PROBLEMS

Ever time I boot my computer I get one short beep before windows loads.Just after turning power on. Is this a normal function. Can I disable it.It says in the manual that 1 short beep with award bios means system boots ok. Is this right?

Also, in my widows volume control. every time I adjust my main volume I get a default error sound.

If anyone can help answer these questions they can email me at cashtalks@shaw,ca

Thanks
Troy

The single beep is usually a signal that the system has passed POST - the Power On Self Test. So that's nothing to worry about. if you really want to disable it,you could just disconnect the wire that leads to the speaker - but then if you ever do have a problem, you won't be able to hear the system beep to warn you.

The default error sound when adjusting the volume is normal too. It's just a test to show you how loud it's going to be.

How come none of my other computers have ever done this. Is it new.

The beeping at start and volume control is annoying.

And if I try to turn windows sounds to (no sounds) . ever time I adjust the main volume the darn pc speaker beeps. Instead of the default beep under the windows settings.

Its kinda annoying. All my other computers worked quietly 100percent of the time?

any other suggestions or remedies please help.

Ive got 2 babies in a small house and everytime I check my email in morning and night its loud.

Regards
Troy

In the control panel, under sounds, there are several adjustments you can make, disabling beeps when certain items are loading.

My computer has always done the single beep when booting up. I think it just depends on what bios you have. I've always used Asus and Epox and the single beep is normal for both.
