ok i have a weird dilemma of sorts.
one day I was updating my windows and it said something about an ide transfer upgrade so I figured "why not?" and did it. midway through the upgrade it asked me to put in the win98 cd. being sort of lazy I just had it skip the file. well now that screwed the computer up and I couldn't get the cdroms or the lan to work so I had to reinstall windows . but anyways, everything is fine and dandy now except when I look under system properties it says drive A is using MS-Dos compatability mode. now when my computer was screwed up the same had been said for my Hard drive. but when I fixed it it didnt say so anymore. heres the weird thing: I don't have a floppy drive on my computer. and it seems that this is slowing my computer down as it used to boot up almost instantaneously but now it takes a bit longer. I have tried to delete the driver but it won't let me and since I don't have a floppy drive its kinda impossible to install a driver. any help would be appreciated.
