I am not very good with networking hence need some serious help.
Comp. A - Win 98SE
Comp. B - Win XP Home SP2
Both networked thru' a Linksys router.
Comp A can "save as" documents on Comp. B but not vice versa... Comp. B can open documents and save changes made to any document but when I try to "save as" this is what I get "The folder '\\(comp. name)\drive\document name' isn't accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the filename contains a / or \."
The document is def. accessible, the document is not password protected, the drive is password protected but it opens when I double click it in the Network Neighbourhood without asking for the password and the filename def. does not contain any / or \.
It has really limited me to the work that I can do since it is more important that I should be able to save as from Comp. B on Comp. A.
BTW I am accessing the secondary drive on Comp. A not the primary since primary is not shared.
Do you think its some setting in the router, or I dunno what, btw. if its the router than this should be a problem with both the comps. but only one comp. has this problem.
I have setup a network on the Comp. B and made a network installation disk and installed the setting of that on the Comp. A........
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
