Okay... I'm finally going to make the "Big Push" to top my machine out....

What do I currently have in my machine now?

P3-800mhz
768megs PC133
Geforce2 64megger
Twin WD-7200rpm 75 giggers
SBLive! w/ I/O
19" Sony Mon
Motorola Cable Modem (here tomorrow!)
10/100 NIC (ISA until Linux likes my PCI one)
Pioneer DVD (12x)
Sony 4x/6x/42x RW
(other assorted goodies, including some yummy Klipsch)

But my main question is this:

With Tax time giving me back around 1900$, should I go Thunderbird 1.2 ghz w/another 256 PC133? or a Thunderbird 1.2ghz w/21" mon?

My 19" is great, but I also run 4 different OS' as well (Win98 SE, Win2000, Linux and BE) So running with more ram is also good. But then again....hmm...any Dual Thunderbirds out there yet? *starts thinking evil dual thoughts*

Samsung 1200NF
Plextor 12/10/32 or Yamaha 16/10 burner

More ram seems a little excessive...
If the cpu is an 800E, overclock it!, if it's an EB, you might want to switch it for a T-bird, but I'd wait for Palomino which isn't far away. Don't forget to keep some money for NV20 when it comes out.

BTW, Pioneer doesn't make a 12X dvd drive, only 10X and 16X

Go for a 1.2Ghz or at least a 1ghz Athlon, dont think about the P3. Also 512mb is way more than you will ever need. Why not add a PCI version of the G400 and another monitor, you will LOVE two monitors

do 21 incher, it has been my best purchase yet ( iiyama visionmaster pro 510 )..another good idea is to get dual 19's since they are relatively cheap.

You're right...it is a 10x Pioneer. Looked at the front of the drive wrong.

Also recently read that there's a better Decoder card out there than the Hollywood. Saw it in a recent MaximumPC article, but don't have it around anymore. Was around 50$ and they loved it.

Oh yeah...forgot...I'm seriously thinking of setting up a 3rd machine and networking the 3 of them together with my Cable Modem (must...wait...a...little....longer...). So the leftover parts would go to it.

Plus hey...what's wrong with setting up a Q3 Server with my potential setup?
