I might have a movie date tonite. She mentioned that she wants to see the grudge. First off, this is a first date. I know for sure what movie she wants to see. I still have to call her today around 5 pm to seal the date. My question is whether to include dinner with the date or not. It would be better if we had a group of people coming along, but that's a luxury that we don't have at the moment. I want to make this as comfortable as possible, so not including dinner may take off the pressures of a date for both her and I.
However, If I include the dinner it will most likely please her, since we would both have a good meal out of the evening in case the movie is a flop.
Update :
Okay, I will do exactly as you say next Sunday evening. We made plans for that time since I called her at 4:30pm today, and the weekend is already just about shot.
Update:
You are right. I will take her to cheesecake factory for drinks and dessert after the movies. I will be hungry during the movie, so I believe nachos, hotdogs, and soda may be a good idea as long as she's okay having some too.
Update :
Okay, I will do exactly as you suggest. Thank you.

Definitely do dinner afterwards. You don't get much of a chance to talk during a movie. If the movie sucks, so much the better, you can both rant about it's cheesiness afterwards.

Yeah. I think just drinks would keep things more comfortable than dinner. You can always order food if you want, but just don't label it as "dinner" since that has a stigma attached to it and basically confirms it's a date.take her out for some drinks/dessert afterwards

Why does it matter if you make it look like a date? It IS a date. Take her to dinner. If you will be hungry before the movie, then ask her if she wants to grab something to eat before the movie. (FYI - as a girl i would be irritated if the guy pigged out during the movie on our first date rather than getting something to eat together) If she says yes, have a restaurant or two in mind and see if she is interested in going to either of them. If she says no to dinner (although I doubt she will), then eat before the movie but offer to get popcor. If things go well through dinner and the movie, after the movie you can ask her if she's up for grabbing a drink or coffee somewhere.
Okay, I will do exactly as you suggest. Thank you.
