either way, i'm just glad to see these dropping--saw the 18.1" monitors in here the other day for $999. . . in another year or two, i may actually be able to afford to have one of these sitting on my desk.

Don't get your hopes up about cheap flat panels. They manufacturing process is extremely expensive, and until they change the type of screen they use, it's pretty much always going to be a fair amount of money. There really isn't anything gained by economies of scale in relation to the eventual cost.

That being said, they are working on some new technologies which could replace TFT. Let's hope they work. I'd love a flat panel!

I have been using TFT for quite sometimes, only draw back is that NONE of TFT can display true RED...(always bit toward orange-ish(sp?)
NOTE: I believe there is one Taiwanese company has develop the technology that able to show true red, and either Toshiba, or NEC are in line for the contract?

Again, call them to make sure either it require 20pin or 24pin connector to Video card.
and then visit http://www.oscaroscar.com/p_subcat_78.asp just to buy DVI-to-Analog adopter for your regular video card.
