Floppy disk problem

I have a 1.44mb floppy with an important paper on it. I typed it about 1 week ago, had to do something with it today. Go to open it and the disk says it is not formated do I want to format now. Is there anyway that I can get my paper?

Try it in a different machine. It sounds to me like your floppy drive is screwed up. It might be a gob of dust in the works.

Are you using the same OS to read the floppy that you used to write to it?
