Nice deal but keep in mind that they have some severe negatives posted at resellers ratings. Not crapping but as with many online vendors, you takes your chances.

I was going to order 2 of the floppy drives, but I had second thoughts after reading 97% negative dealings with this company on resellers. From the description they apprear to be refurbushed/reconditioned drives. "Pulls" referrs to if you order multiple quantities, they will be of the same brand.

There was a thread quite awhile back on floppy drives for $2.00 apiece from this site. I ordered 3 at that price. They were old, dirty drives, but i cleaned them up. All of them worked. Mine had grey faceplates. Some people were not satisfied with their order, though. I would pay $2.00 apiece, but not $7.00.

$7 for a filty, extremely old drive is not worth it. I still have 3 lying around that I had purchased a couple months ago for $2 each, shipped. Even that wasn't worth it.

BINGO! I ordered two from the same source; different company though. I guess I was fortunate in that both came in decent shape and clean. In that instance, it was a good deal for me; $4 for TWO floppy drives. However, this looks like something similar except the price is $7. Because I have seen deals (mostly at Fry's) for $9.99 for a new Floppy and considering the rep of this dealer, this does not seem like such a "hot deal". Thread Crap or not; this should be avoided.

I've had this server I built for several months and I never really needed a FDD. The one or two times, I used the one on the other machine thru the LAN.

people still use floppies?

1. to save hard drive after MBR virus infection
2. to save hard drive after MBR corruption
3. to image hard drive
4. to find lost files using recovery software
5. to partition hard drive
6. to disk copy hard drive
7. to null erase hard drive before you reinstall or sell
...
I can find a lot of use for floppy. I find it more convenient that booting CD Rom. Good deal. You bet these are pulls not "refurbished." Good deal anyway if only this reseller is reliable.
It would be nice to be able to get black floppy drives as pulls.

Which most or all can be done through cdr-w or network drives.
But nonetheless I still use a floppy out of habit and will continue to do so until cdr-w's are as cheap to replace as floppy's are.
Nice find but for that price it's almost worth buying new ones.

Edited because I followed the link to see the website, this is the company that was selling them for like 3 bucks each last time around refurbished, I don't remember if none of mine worked or 1 out of 3 did. ORDER MORE THAN ONE IF YOU WANT A WORKING ONE!

my floppy drive died today. I'd sure go for a $2 one. Anyway, is there some way to disable the BIOS from telling me it's broken every time I reboot (once or twice a day) till I get a new one??
