Hurry the bottle, mama,
It's grapefruit wine.
Kick off your high heeled sneakers,
It's party time.
The girls don't seem to care what's on
As long as they play till dawn.
Nothing but blues and Elvis
And somebody else's favorite song.
Give us some funked up music,
She treats you nice.
Feed us some hungry reggae,
She loves you twice.
The girls don't seem to care tonight
As long as the mood is right.
No static at all,
No static at all,
No static at all.
FM, no static at all.
Give us some funked up music,
She treats you nice.
Feed us some hungry reggae,
She loves you twice.
The girls don't seem to care tonight
As long as the mood is right.
No static at all,
No static at all,
No static at all.
FM, no static at all.

The Dan was one of the best bands ever. And yes, I'm an old fart. But that was music, as opposed to todays noise. I know a couple 20 year olds who think so, too.

Steely Dan's pretty good, somehow I hadn't heard this tune before.

People always say this kind of stuff, and I just kinda roll my eyes. There's good music and bad music in every generation, from Reinassaince and Baroque through 2008. There's noise today just as there was noise then...don't blame the generation, just listen to the good stuff.
QFT. The main difference is quality of music that get's a lot of play on the airwaves thanks to the assholes that run the Record Companies. I believe it's harder today for new and innovative musicians to get a break as the Studio Execs are more interested in Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Sean Paul and Fiddy Cent clones and aren't as willing to take a chance on new musicOriginally posted by: johnjohn320

Kansas and the Eagles don't even belong in the same sentence with Steely Dan though it's true that the Eagles were more influential (Todays Country Music)Originally posted by: dennilfloss
I have the FM movie soundtrack LP but I never really cared for Steely Dan. Not into the Eagles or Kansas either and it took me years to finally appreciate Fleetwood Mac (I love them now).

Shhh, his whole purpose of posting that was to get a reaction and attention. If you were to read his other posts you'd realize that.Originally posted by: dennilfloss
