Hello fellas and ladies, i have a ? for ya, want to know 2 things really.

1. I am a little concerned about the air flow of my case, i think its really well and my temps are pretty good. but i want to see HOW MY AIR FLOWS in my case. i was wondering, would a FOG MACHINE be good for this? or will the fog actually HURT?

2. the chipset names are kinda confusing with AMD. Venice is the new dual cores right? or am i mistaken, and what are the differences. if you want you could point me to a website that tells the differences in the names.. would be great guys and gals thanks!

1. Don't be. If your temps are fine so is your airflow.

2. very wrong. The venice is still single core with better memory controller and support for SSE3 instructions. When the A64 dual core ships they will come with a big fat "X2".
Venice and San Diego are the A64 versions to go after ATM, they're identical except San Diego has 1Mb cache and Venice only 512kb.

I understand why he's asking the question so I would alter it and ask what sort of visible smoke/fog generator would you use to see airflow like this? Not that I want to try it right away but it would be an interesting curiosity experiment just to see how things are flowing.

how do they do it in wind tunnel experiments? I know they use something to show the aerodynamics of the object in question, I've seen in on Discovery Channel Whatever it is spews out of a nozzle in front of the object to show how things are flowing around it - is that just fog/water vapor or is it some sort of smoke?

Get a hose a fill your computer case full of water, then wait and see which hole the water comes out of first and you get a rough idea of how the airflow works! NAH ONLY MESSING!
There was this guy in the paper who sprayed all his cmputer chips with some highly flammable cleaning solution and when he turned his computer on it sparked and blew his whole room up... HAHA what an idiot.

But back to on topic, I think you should just leave it alone. Also what are the temps like? Give us some readings

Soff.

Theatrical fog is not water - and the generating machines are fairly expensive. The one I have used is Rosco - and it created the misty, rolling fog you see in shows - but water was never a component.Rosco

That stuff smells like a combo of dirt and chalk. What's in it?

88 C? EXCELLENT!!

WRAUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if it was 88 C under load, your winny would be stinking up the room, so dont worry about the fog just yet...

If you are insistent of doing the smoke test you can try using Chinese Incense sticks. It produces a constant stream of smoke and you can even direct where the smoke comes from. The only thing you need to make sure is to put a see through cover or plastic cover to replace your case cover so at least you can see the smoke trail. This is safe and healthy not to mention a good deodorizer for the house, and maybe the computer. Of course, that is if you like the odor or flavor of the incense.
