i edited my post. go ahead and read it.

assuming your hair is thinning and you're not losing your hair, then, yes, they'd help.... except for saw palmetto. that wouldn't do much for thinning hair.

But my hair isn't thinning.

Okay, three facts before we move on lol.

1) I'm not losing hair.

2) My hair isn't thinning.

3) My hair is naturally thin.

My question is that since I have naturally thin hair will a product such as avacor work to make it a little bit thicker (so that it's easier to deal with and a little nicer looking)? I've read their website and it says that some people who aren't experiencing thinning or hair loss take it to grow thicker hair and it works. The problem is that I read that on their website so I'm very much skeptical.

terrible idea. don't do it... and certainly don't let a dermatologist or md talk you into it. they could easily lose their license.

Are you referring to what you said earlier? I'm assuming that certain hair thickening solutions DO work but can lead to some pretty harsh long-term damage?

well, it might, but it's not necessary. it probably wouldn't help thicken your hair and it's not worth the money and side-effects for some very marginal cosmetic benefit. your health is more important than naturally thin hair.

like i said before, why not get a haircut? shaggy hair is not a good idea when you have thin hair.... neither is short hair. normal length hair is the way to go with your kind of hair... go to any hair stylist (not the crapcuts down the street for $10/haircut) and they'll fix you up.... it may cost you about $25-30, but it'll be worth it.

Buddy, I pull out 5-ish hairs when I comb my hair after a shower, and I'm in the prime o' life.

For the record I keep my hair about 4-5 inches long. That's not overly shaggy and I keep it short in the back so that it doesn't hang down like girls hair.

Eat/drink a lot of SOY products. The best defense against cell degenertion and what Propecia (the only legitimate hair loss drug besides Rogaine) is based on.

BTW, if your family's genetics are good thru several generations, then fret not.

Just so you know, as you age into your 20's hair will come out. 2-3 hairs is a joke. Full head 40 year olds lose waaaaaay more than that. It's normal as you age

Ok, i'm a little more concerned, as i'm an 18 years old dude.

I have a problem with my hair too. Its getting greyer by the day.I have black hair by default and i get a LOT of grey hair (like 35% of my hair is grey now). The doc said there's nothing i can do about it. Its just like that. I was a bit dissappointed by his answers.

I also have the hair loss problem. A lot of hairs fall down everyday, like 10. Any help is much appreciated. thanks.

Well it's pretty much been determined that losing 10 hairs a day is normal when reaching adulthood.

no worries. some girls like the greying hair.

10 hairs falling out is normal. no worries. that's nothing. if around 80 fell everyday (that you noticed), that's different.

just use just for men coloring stuff if you're that worried about the greying hair thing... but, honestly, if i were you, i'd go with it for a bit. i'm serious when i say some girls are into it.

If you want more folic acid in your diet, then the best way to get it is to eat more vegetables. Most vegetables and fruits have it, but green leafy vegetables are highest in vitamin b complex. Eat a variety of plant foods, make sure they are all of differant colours. Do this for six months and your health will be noticeably better and your skin will appear brighter.

Actuall, i need to count.

This is the problem : I go to my bathroom, and ruffle my hair around and it pours like rain! I'm not kidding. If i do that for 10 minutes, thats prolly like 100 hairs. I'm not joking.

i've never heard any studies that can confirm or deny that, but i wouldn't be surprised if it did.

i do know that overcoloring severly damages hair and can cause premature balding.

Ok, i just went to the bathroom, watched the clock and kept ruffling my hair for 1 minute, continously.

I counted and its like 16 hairs. And i just had a haircut like 2 weeks ago.

That day, when i went to the doctor, he said there's no cure for greying of hair. Its a genetic disorder, is that true? I can live with it, thats not a problem, but if i get bald, thats gonna suck.

We are not doctors on this forum, so do not take any advice serouisly.

Baldness and greying are both related to your genes. Stress or Poor health and diet can accelerate baldness and/or greying. Good health and eating habits can prolong or delay the effects of your genetic disposistion, but odds are that it will not completely stop it.

It's probably because you have leprosy. That's what happens when you don't eat animals.

Protein deficiency may lead to hair loss. Make sure a large portion of your calories come from fruits, nuts, and vegetables. Calculate the remaining calories and eat carbohydrates to fill in for the energy deficit. Keep in mind that the brain needs sugars and complex carbohydrates to funtion properly.

Eat meat or protein but in moderation. Your body needs no more than 4 ounces of meat in on day or a piece of meat the size of a pack of cigaretts or a deck of cards; any more than that you you are getting too much of a good thing (and that is bad). If you cannot eat meat for some reason there are plenty of second rate plant based protien alternatives to fill the void,

Man I have 10x more hair fall off my butt than that....
