fonts problem

one day i installed all these fonts i had zipped up from an older computer, but something went wrong, and when i try to access Symbols in Microsoft Word, it crashes. does anyone know how to fix font-reading problems on windows? if i reinstall windows would i lose the fonts?

sound like me...still carry around 1500 fonts from waaaaayyy back... if you install more than a thousand you're heading for heartaches...have to keep it under that for the adobe pagemaker to work...other programs probably choke if you have to many loaded...

anywho, first try removing the questionable font and "reinstalling" it... it will not let you just install over top of the bad one, you have to remove it first...if the one your putting on is bad then surely somewhere out there you can snag a good one...google is your friend...I know I've seen a site that specializes in freebee's...had to have a western style one long time ago and found it there...
