For smokers...

...., I saw a post here recently about how smoke from cigarettes may affect your systems components. I am not a smkoek rmyself, but am using a Coolermaster ATCS 201 case. The front has a very fine grill which keeps out VERY fine dust, and I thought that it may help in filtering out at least som of the particles in the smoke to help your system. Just a thought.

i got the Coolermaster ATCS 201 myself.. but it's not effective in filtering the cigs smoke even w/ the case completely closed.. so i find the best solution is to cut back on my habit<BR><BR><BR>thx for the post though..

if you have somekind of airflow in your room, smoke is not a problem... and it would only damage cdrom,cdr,cdrw,floppy and tapedrives after 500000000 some smokes....

i have an exhaust fan in my room and my ac is circulating and filtering the air in my room... doesn't help tho
still got to clean my sytem once in two weeks (yellow tar gunk yeech)

500000000 did i miss a zero ?? thats about 6250000 days for me... guess i don't have to worry

well, i have an exhaust fan in the wall, and a fan blowing down from above, smoke hang still in the air and sticks to light surfaces, if there is wind, it won't stick... even better when it get's sucked out... well it could be just 5000000

I hate to say it, but if it makes your stuff look like that, just imagine what it's doing to your lungs

I quit two years ago, BTW... it wasn't hard after seeing what they pumped out of my 70 year old mother's lungs after 50 years of smoking.

I built an AMD system about 1.5 years ago for a lady who is a smoker. A couple of months ago she called and reported an error she was getting. I stupidly (or not so stupidly) blamed windows' instability without even cracking the case and did a re-install. But I kept getting "windows protection error", Turns out the cpu fan died. The blades had alot of dust but it was yellowish in color. Interesting...

yeah that's why i have to clean my system once in a while....
btw:thx for the advice... i've quit drugs,so why can't i quit smoke
