Do you guys recommend getting the 3500+ (Winchester) or saving about $50 and getting the 3200+ ??

I'm building a brand new system from scratch, so $50 isn't that big of a deal. I believe they just come out of the box w/different default multipliers. Is there any other difference?

I believe that you are right the only difference is the multipier 10 vs 11. I bought mine for the simple reason of it was $42 more without O/C it's 10% faster, with O/C even a poor/fair chip will do 2.6

Thanks Duvie for the reply about the bios earlier I missed it. It looks like your have your HT Frequency and the multipliers set pretty low, you do this for the high FSB right? I'm a bit confused, I know lowering the multipliers help a bit but what is the HT Frequency and what does it do? I can't seem to find where it fits into the math...

HTT multiplier times the HTT frequency (FSB as some of come to think of it as) quals that number...then it is duble pumped

First A64 chips have a max of 800 or 4x 200 default HT frequency.....The newer chips and mobos allo up to `1000 or 5x 200 default....

What you notice is ppl try not to cross that 1000 level, as it starts to cause some instability eventhough many of us can't see much of an effect at what the speed is under 1000....I have had it as low as mid 700's to cuyrrent 990 and it does virtually nothing to performance....

Anything over stock should be immediately turned to 4x....anything over 250 then you should set it to 3x...anything over 333 you should try the 2.5x though I hear they may not actually work.....The goal equal or stay close to but not over 1000....

upping chipset voltage can help, or if you don't have that selection, AGP voltage increase would also increase the chipset voltage.

Read my post in Motherboards about my mobo undervolting or something.

Does upping the AGP voltage make your vid card run hotter? Mine's as hot as I want it now, so I don't wanna be making it any hotter.

lol WA261, that gives you like 1.7v which is where I probably won't want to go. I figured out how to get up to like 1.6 (1.65 is absolute max for me) but I can't seem to hit 2.7ghz. Keep trying keep trying...
