"Test-drives must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance.
When would you like to schedule yours?"

I'm not that serious about these things.

I am. Yesterday I received signoff from 3 dealerships for a $35 GC, Kenneth Cole watch and a Palm m100 and I didn't drive a single car. All it cost me was the time to walk into the dealership (and two of them were next door to each other).

I signed up, but saw no mention of a $50 Webcertificate. Where does it say you will get one for the test drive?

Thanks,

-Zutton

p.s. - alm4rr -- A webcertificate is a pre-paid mastercard which you can use online, or for a fee they will mail you a actual plastic card which you can use anywhere that takes MC.

I got my invitation via e-mail rather out of the blue this week. I signed up online quite a while ago.
Printed out the form, went to the Ford dealership, told them straight up that I was only interested in the $50 certificate, and that I was not looking to purchase a vehicle.

The nice salesman signed, and thanked me for my candor.

$50 will be on its way!

All I get each time I make an "appointment" is

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e4d'

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.

whizbang,

I've done many testdrive offers, but none that require me to schedule anything, which commits me to something that I don't necessarily want to do at a precise time. They want serious commitment, but I want freedom.

The acronym for FORD: Fix Or Repair Daily

I don't have anything against Ford's, but I thought you might like it if you haven't heard it.

<< So, does anyone know how old you have to be to "test drive"? >>

to test drive, probably 16 (or whatever the legal driving age is in your state). however, on many offers like this, the form says you have to be 21 to receive the gift. in my experience, though, they don't care how old you are as long as you have a valid license

a webcertificate? I assume this is a gift certificate that can be used on the web? Where can we use it?

Got multiple errors trying to submit. Bad web programmer, no cookie.
Looked like it was having problems with the time field conversion.
2:45 pm on Christmas Day eventually worked !!
I'll be there. Yeh, right.

266,000 + miles on my '92 F150. No worries. Same straight six that is in all the UPS trucks. Any questions?

FORD/CHEVY, MAC/IBM,ANANDTECH/FATWALLET......can't we all just get along?

Thanks for the test drive post.

An FYI- If you mow the lawn barefoot then go to the test drive (barefoot with green feet) they will talk you out of the test drive.
I'm not sure why this works.

To clear things up.
A $50 webcertificate is basically a $50 credit card that you can use anywhere online.
