Argh, MAKE IT STOP. I have this miniscule bump on the inner edge of my eyelid and it is KILLING ME!!! It's so tiny, yet it feels like I have an eyelash stuck between my eyeball and my eyelid.

And to make matters worse, whenever I blink, it irrirates the (@*$ out of me. My gawd make it STOP!!!

Any pointers on how to stop this other than gouging out my eyeball with a metal fork??

<< Cut off your eyelid. >>

Savages. All you need to do is keep the lid propped open with toothpicks.

I have a suggestion also. It may not be what you're looking for though.

Go to the freakin' doctor.

I hope that helps a bit

NFS4, you might try a warm, slightly damp washcloth over it - that always seems to help whenever I get those little bump things, plus it helps lubricate your eyes. If it doesn't work, then go for an ice cube wrapped in a washcloth - maybe the cold will shrink it a little bit?

do'nt spend too much time near your computer, and don't take off and put on your glasses (if you have any) too much. sleep early and you won't have them anymore.

NFS4: Also, try wetting a tea bag with warm water, and laying that over your eye. Sometimes that will draw any impurities out, and can help with soreness, bumps and etc.

Thanks ChrichtonsGirl, I'll do that right now...

*EDIT* I don't have any tea bags and the C-Store on campus is closed. I'll have to settle for the warm rag.

this is a little awkward but it works,

pour a pinch of salt into a cup which will make a water tight seal around your eye, fill the cup half way with warm water. Lean over the cup pressing it over your eye socket, make sure you have a water tight seal then tilt your head back with your eye closed. Now just blink.

This helps flush a whole lot of crap out, hope it helps.

<edit> oh my bad, didn't realize this was in your eyelid </edit>

in that case get a needle and attempt to burst it, i've done this before it ain't that hard, but I don't need to tell you to be careful if you try this... it can get ugly

NSFS4, I think we underestimated your pain because of your statement,

<< Any pointers on how to stop this other than gouging out my eyeball with a metal fork?? >>

Didn't sound serious.

I recommend a nap but not full sleep...you don't want to engage any Rapid Eye Movement which might make it worse. Oh and logoff from the forums and turn off your PC...eye strain will only make it worse. MAIN SCREEN TURN OFF!!!

I think that I'll stay away from that idea

Anyway, time for a nice rest with a warm rag to my eye

That's an old welders trick. I've used it. Maybe it'll work for you.

First try eye drops. You could also try a warm cloth over the eye. Or an eyepatch with gauze stuffed underneath to minimize movement. There's drops a doc could give you for the pain and to take care of that bump, which is probably your best bet. Stay away from anything that could strain the eye. Sounds like you may have gotten a bit of dirt or something in there and irritated it. You may also try aspirin. It's an anti-inflammatory and will help with the pain.
