My PC has 2 hard drives 40GB IDE and 120GB SATA. C: is on the SATA drive and the IDE drive is E: and F:.
I have formatted the E: and F: partitions. I want to re-install Windows on the 40MB drive.
If I unplug the SATA drive and install Windows it will automatically install on the 40MB drive ... right?
But once installed and I reconnect the SATA drive what happens? Should I format the C: partition before I unplug it?
Also, when I originally set up the SATA drive I had to load the drivers. At what point would I have to load the SATA drivers on this new install (if the SATA is not connected)?
Or, if I format C: and leave the SATA drive connected will I be able to choose to install to the IDE drive?
TIA.
