AMD Users picked up three points in MOO. The ranking now:
TeAm AnandTech = 153
Crystal Dream = 152
AMD Users = 151

No WUs in Rioja yet (22,581 points behind).
Constellation is out of WUs too (we're only 5,900 points behind!).

I'm doing Leiden now.

I added rioja to one of my computers in case it gets work. I started crunching moo wrapper on my gpus. with my current wu times I should get at least 500k ppd. Is there any other project that we're close to the next team and I can use amd gpus? I started crunching leiden for a couple days to help catch the next team, I'll be going back to simap afterwards since I want to crunch as much as I can before the f@h race (want to reach #1 in the team before they shutdown).

I hadn't seen MOO as being possible to get points. I'll switch over and we can see how hard it will be

So, no I don't think there is any other GPU project where we could get points.

Other Updates:
We are now at 154 points! We passed Nordlichter in Leiden for 1 point.

Analysis:
Volpex is not taking new crunchers - we only have three active attached, I wonder if zzuupp and Joe would be willing to help Fardringle with 2,000 more points?

The team that passed us in LHC is slowing down, so might be possible to catch again.
If Rioja gets more WUs we should pass and/or make lead bigger.

salvorhardin thought we maybe could overtake in MOO (surprised me when I looked that it might be possible), I moved to it to see. (I shouldn't be doing this job, I think I asked zzuupp to move from MOO a while back, maybe after he reaches 250M in Collatz he will move back?)

Anyone else have ideas?

I am trying to figure out how to get best ppd on the rig with GTX 560Ti 448core and GTX 970.
The 970 is hanging half way through?
At least I am getting 6,144 point WUs now on the 560 for ~150,000 ppd.
I should get almost 600,000 ppd from the 7950 and GTX 780 together.

I think you'll get more than that. I'm running on a 5850 and 7950 and expect to get around 600k ppd. The only thing I can think of is updating your drivers and boinc (now at 344.75 and 7.4.27 respectively). I was reading the moo forum and it looks like it wasn't optimized for nvidia towards the beginning of the year. I don't know if that changed with the new opencl app released in september.

Interesting. I just checked the project history on Boincstats and it says I've been getting a steady stream of a few points every day recently, and yet none of my computers have received any new work for at least a month, and the actual project site shows zero recent/pending tasks for me. Oh well, if they want to give me enough credits to push us up the ranks in the race, I won't complain..

from what I could find they're working on a nvidia opencl app. I don't think there is a way to force it. I looked at the top 100 hosts in moo and the highest nvidia only computer is at #83 with 3 750ti. all the others either had amd only or amd and nvidia on the same machine.

You have been getting WUs too. They just don't show on the project site unless they are In Progress. No Pending or Valid. iGEM did the same thing ... annoying!

Directions on how to get WUs in Volpex:

The last two days WUs have been given in the evening. There is not a steady supply of WUs, but you can get some which will help the Formula Race. The WUs run only for a short time.

Just for the evening, set your regular project to "No new tasks". Increase your "Work buffer" so that Manager will need new tasks. "Update" Volpex to start it asking for new Volpex WUs.

A Volpex WU will automatically run at "High Priority" and suspend your regular WU for the short time it runs, I have not seen one over an hour and most are only a few minutes. Most of the time the WU is in Waiting mode for directions from the server.

It spends time communicating with the server and uses lots of bandwidth (like one gigabyte each evening?) I have almost used up my monthly allotment and so will only be able to do one more evenings worth!

If one or two people could try, it would not affect your regular project much but would help add a needed buffer under us.

Congratulations everyone! We gained a point in moo a few hours ago and are now #7.
We're about 23.5 million points behind Boinc@Finland. It looks like they have also increased their output and it would probably take doubling our ppd (up to 4m ppd) in order to pass them before the end of the race.

Edit:
I just did some rough calculations and if we increase our ppd to 3.3m we'll pass US Navy for another point and if we increase our production to 4m we would also pass Boinc@Finland for an additional 3 points.

I'm finding that I get about 10% better throughput on Moo by running 2 WUs at a time per GPU with an app_info file. Can somebody tell me of changes I can make to the Moo computing preferences to further increase PPD? The have some interesting options in there, but I when I tried to fiddle with them earlier, I didn't have any success.

Boinc@Finland. It looks like they have also increased their output

It's one guy with two AMD cards and eight computers doing CPU WUs! When I looked at his computer list it didn't look like he had recently added more ... his increase, I think, was just a good day or two, but it is still a too large hurdle to overcome, probably.

I did get the GTX 970 to run without hanging very often. My ppd might get up to 850,000+.

I am going to continue for a while to see if more join in the fun.

Regardless, we can still keep #7 if we watch close and don't let any overtakes happen.

I have my one and only GPU running Moo, but it's only a wimpy HD5670 so it only gets around 30-35K points per day.

All of my regular computers are still set to grab Volpex and Rioja jobs whenever any are available, and run Yafu and Yoyo the rest of the time (keeping our leads there and getting me closer to my points goals). I can move them to other CPU projects for a little while if needed.
