I hate both TikTok and reddit, as it is just too much junk being shot in your face.
I don't use TikTok at all and Reddit only to keep up on ASrock bios updates.

I love reddit due to its sheer size and content contained within. Great for PC nerds too. I haven't bothered with tiktok but I ain't a hater either.

TikTok = installing an "info pipeline" directly to/from the Chinese government straight from the device that very likely knows more about you than you do yourself. (ie: your smartphone)

It is of course your decision re: the value you place on your personal data but far as I'm concerned only the type of "sucker" PT Barnum had in mind when he quipped "one born every minute" would even consider doing so.

Reddit's biggest issue is the "needle in a haystack" problem of actually finding what you're looking for in that disorganized mess.... at least it's useful though!
