i remember seeing a documentary on sea turtles, and how the female travels to the beach and lays thousands of eggs. Once the hatchlings emerge, though, only a small % actually make it to the ocean. Those that do are usually eaten, and only a small % actually survive.

facts:

1.) turtles are carnivorous.
2.) turtles are descendants of an advanced civilization brought here by aliens over 1,000,000 years ago. due to a misunderstanding regarding "night plow routes", a nuclear war resulted in dangerous fallout. this fallout shrunk the testicles of, and made impotent, the male members of this advanced civilzation, except those who had thick enough skin to ward off the radiation. over time these thick skinned beings evolved shells.
3.) in lieu of food, turtles can be fed charged capacitors.
4.) turtles are an aphrodisiac.

I hear that turtles are good eating.

We find turtles sneaking up from the creek behind our house once in a while and trying to cross the road. We round them up in a bucket and drop off them off to the nearest pond. Them seem to like that.

what the heck you feed that tiny thing?

he eats a lot of things. like baby turtle food which you can purchase from pet stores.

crickets
meal worms
many diff vegetables
live 1-2" rosy reds minnows

well i have like 30 different types of food i feed them. They might be small, but they're pretty savage when it comes to eating.

Wild turtles are going to eat crickets/grasshoppers and other tasty bugs they can catch, dandelion stalks, berries (they LOVE them), etc.

When contained, you can still feed them above but they can also eat wet dog food, thawed out mixed vegetables, and bread.

I'd find some green ooze to pour on him, so that I could train it as a ninja. But that's just me.

Nah, I'd let him go at a pond or creek.

Make sure it is really a turtle! Tortoises and water are not a happy combination.

PICS?!?!!

Check out what kind of turtle it is. We found a big turtle on the side of the road once and kept it for a few hours just because it was cool, but we found out it was an endangered species. You don't want to mess with the ecosystem or with the gov.

he has real feet with toes and claws, along the sides of it's neck has yellow color. everytime he gets close to my dog he opens his mouth wide and tries to bite it.

Let it go.

Catching a pet from the wild is almost a guaranteed death to the animal.

If you decide you want a turtle as a pet, go learn about it then buy one. they are very cheap.

I have two red eared sliders and they are easy to take care of. I found one in the wild and the other was bought at a pet store. Many people here don't know what they are talking about . PM me if you have any questions
