Free cellphone ring tones

After mymobile started charging I havent downloaded a single tone. One of my co-workers brought this up... have fun :-D

Usually you can't, but you can save new ones over the ones you've downloaded before.
Default/included ringtones cannot be overwritten.

It sent a "confirmation" message instantly, yet I tried ringtones and messages from the site...nothing....it's been an hour.

Souka: when you click send, and that window popped up. You have to keep that up until it says its been sent and its ok to close. Did you? I did that at first and thought the same thing. Now it takes a min or so for them to send.

what sucks is that voicestream wont let you receive logos and crap, so im beat either way. :disgust:

I am kinda new at this. I have a Nokia 8260 with Cingular in Houston (houston cellular). Does cingular charge me for ringtones even if I use another independent site like this? Do they charge me for receiving the ringtone like a text message? I have the Special Olympics plan.

From what I understand of Cingular, they only charge you if you download a ringtone directly from Cingular. If you are to receive a tone from lets say another Cingular subscriber, there shouldnt be a "RING TONE" charge. PCS Email charge maybe....

Varies by provider, but with AT&T, all incoming SMS, text messaging, ring tones, graphics, etc are completely free (but only the 8260 supports graphics with AT&T I believe). The best way to use this is to send messages from their website to other AT&T users, since it's free. To send text messages from phone to phone, that costs 10 cents.



the-mobile is also a good place to get ringtones, although they've limited them lately.

Hmm... I can't get the stuff to send me anything <im on voicestream> Has anyoen else gotten this to work on Voicestream?

I tried waiting for the popup and it says that it has been sent and that I can close the window...but I dont get anything

Just traded up from my brick phone(yea, the one those 2 dorks had in "A Night At The Roxbury" to a Nokia 8260. I was amazed how simple it was to download these ring tones.

yes, that's correct-- voicestream does not allow you to change nokia ringtones.

i tried changing nokia ringtones and software (i think with monkey logo or something like that) and i learned
that voicestream requires a unique code that prevents 8290 from altering logo/ringtones. you have no choice
but to BUY the ringtones from voicestream...........

your phone doesn't allow custom ringtones. check their list

EDIT: Disregard above message. 5165 does support ringtones.
