Browser

I swear this topic was covered but a search for "mozilla" turned up nothing. Anyway, I wanted to give a plug to this browser. It's really nice and fast too. One thing I noticed was how fast it loaded the Hot Deals pages which my Nescape and IE browsers continue to load pitifully slowly.

Siskel (<--the dead guy?) and Ebert two thumbs up!

It's only a warm deal.

If you want to make it hot, add a copy of Linux and Open Office.

If you want to make it hotter than Britney Spears wearing nothing but my underwear, head on over to Ximian and complete the set.

Netscape/mozilla has been free since it's inception (except for corporate users). I remember switching from Mosiac to Netscape about 10 years ago.

I like the speed of Mozilla but I am having trouble getting my plugins too work. Is there a good site to get more info on the best plugins to use and how to get them to work or work right. I like Robo form but it doesn't seem to want to work. I have made Mozilla my default browser but I hate typing in all those forms and log-ins.

I don't see a whole lotta difference between mozilla and netscape. I have however seen a big diff with Opera. Very fast.

Here is the link to the Mozilla plugins, also free!

And don't forget to get the free skins so that you can customize the look and feel.

The 2 killer features I've seen with Mozilla over IE is tabbed browsing and the ability to (inteliigently) block pop-up ads. Opera is nice too, but is not a hot deal because it is not free (lol). This is hot deals right?

I really like this broswer, BUT when in Hotmail I click on the from box and instead of add check marks to ALL the emails it only adds to the first email....

How do I fix that?
I tried reinstalling Virtual java machine and nothing

OS - Win XP

That's microsoft making hotmail intentionally proprietary to internet explorer - unfortunately there ain't much you can do to fix it because it isn't Mozilla that's busted, it is hotmail. You could find another freemail provider, hotmail is getting more and more restrictive by the day anyway.

Netscape 4.x is even less standards compliant than IE - MS would love for people to stay on 4.x if they aren't going to use IE - that way they are stuck in the stone age.

Yeah I tried out mozilla. I liked most of the things about it, but some "features" that I've gotten used to in IE are missing in it. For instance, in IE when you open a new window it copies the "thread" history of whatever page you are on when you open a new one. Handy in many situations where you want to go back and check something, but you don't want to abort whatever you have in the original page. Some people may not like it, but I do and mozilla doesn't have that.

Anyway, its definately worth a try. Of course you'll probably need to use IE for some MS websites, or perhaps change the tag thingy in mozilla to tell servers its IE rather than mozilla. That fixes some problems I hear.

Any webdesigner would agree with me that Netscape 4.x is the devil. Mozilla and Netscape 6.x are chill.
