Anyone know of a freeware or shareware compiler for either Pascal or C++? I'm in a Pascal class currently, taking AP C++ next year, and would like to use both away from those damned 400Mhz iMacs in school.
Borland gives away older versions of it's Turbo C and Turbo Pascal compilers at their website - you have to hunt a bit for them, and you have to register with Borland to get them. Turbo Pascal 4.0 is still a pretty good package for non-Windows programming.
If you can, get a bit of money together and buy the student version of ms visual studio. In my opinion this is way better for the beginner, purely because the docs are significantly more comprehensive.
