i have been using win2pdf to "print" to pdf files.

what else is out there that is legally free and runs under xp?

I've used PDF Creator with good results, but it's the same as you described (print from any application to PDF).

Foxit is an excelllent replacement for Acrobat, but how does it create PDF files?

However, I recently had to install Adobe Reader because an online class of mine has embedded PDF files on the website. I couldn't figure out how to let foxit handle this, so I quickly downloaded Adobe before my test.
