You can get rid of those with TweakUI, Rallispec.

I reinstalled WinXP home on my laptop a few hours ago, and now it doesn't have those icons either. I started it up and the only thing that was there is the recycle bin. I kinda like it though.

I think they went to the start menu when I went back to the WinXP start menu instead of classic start menu, or else I took them off with TweakUI. TweakUI used to be able to take off the recycle bin as well, or at least get it to the quick launch bar.

Had to edit the pic real quick to keep the MODS happy

hit the 'print screen' button, then go into to a program like msPaint and paste, then save the file and upload it.
