oh your AA setting is pretty minimal. also, you can bump up your aniso to the max as this has very little affect on frame rates and doesn't tax the card much. everything else is the same as what i use except effects (low) and FOV (60). and my frame rates are around 45-55 for the most part.

I'll try out the max Aniso setting, which appears to equate to a 4 in the settings.ini file. Thanks.

What res are you running at? At 1680x1050, fov=65 is a horizontal field of view of 90, quite a bit above the default, which off the top of my head I think is 65.
If you are running at 1920x1080, we're about the same.

Two body shots from a FAL at medium to close distance can take you down.

you probably need to be using the perk that adds damage though.

I'd rather be able to kill and die in 2-3 shots in MW2 than having to expend an entire clip (even at point blank) and barely damage the enemy (meanwhile I get killed in 2-3 shots) in BC2.

yea i'm at the same res. i had it at 65 and lowered it to 60 for better fps. maybe i'll change it back to 65.

More fuel as to why I like BC2 over MW2 is that whole team aspect. There was a guy on Arica Harbor rush, who was either the most amazing player ever, or cheating. He went 70/8(sniping as with M95 only) but his team never could attack. The next best person K/D wise was like 12/16. And of course his team lost because they could never coordinate an attack. And despite his shady skills it's OK because my team and especially my squad was well coordinated and held our ground. Thats something I never found in MW2.

Nope, perk not required

"The FAL is the strongest assault rifle with a damage range of 55-35, and as such, Stopping Power has a minimal effect. Shots will always kill in two hits at close and medium range, but three are required for a long range kill, regardless of the use of Stopping Power."

http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/FAL.

Either way people drop a lot faster in MW2. I have watched a few gameplay videos of BC2, so I know it takes a lot more ammo to take someone down.

In BC2, if I'm accurate enough, I can kill 2-3 people with an assault rifle on one magazine.

The key is burst fire, not sustained automatic fire. If you can't drop some one 2-3 bursts, then you're not accurate enough.

Yup it took me a while to figure out how to shoot in BC2 but it's much more rewarding to me than MW2 was once I got past the learning curve and frustration. The guns aren't inaccurate like it seems, you just cannot fire more than a short burst or you won't even hit someone point blank. You just have to be patient and wait to fire between rounds. If the other guy doesn't realize this you're going to win the fight while he sprays around.

Once you unlock the M16 it kinda helps you realize how you should be firing other guns too.

I think Recon is actually more useful up close with a G3 or shotgun and using their motion sensors as much as possible instead of sniping.

Exactly. I played MW2 heavily on the PS3 and switched to BC2 on PC.

What I like about BC2 is that, majority of the time, the player who contributes most to the team will score the most points. Players that don't complete objectives and run around whoring their favorite guns have a high kdr, but not necessarily the most points.

The guns feel EXTREMELY inaccurate compared to other games, especially MW2. But once you figure out how the burst fire works, your skill will take off.

In my opinion, the bullet flight time and drop make the game much more interesting. Going back to games like CSS where bullets transport instantly across the map feels archaic and cheap.

The learning curve in BC2 is greater, but the reward is much more satisfying to me.

If I wasn't so lazy and typed a better reply, this is exactly what'd i'd say about BC2. It's a nice step, in the right direction when it comes to "realistic" FPS's imo.

never had a good back and forth conquest? or a rush mode go to almost no tickets at each stage? with the mcom going off just before tickets deplete or even worse, tickets deplete when its about to go off at the end?

friggin epic.

a rush round can last 30-40 minutes. same with conquest

whats the average time of TDM when its not full of sucky people? couple minutes?(its been a while since I played, but I remember rounds going fast)

To answer Malak.... this above sums it up nicely

i tried but BC2 just sucks imo.

Yeah - they both suck actually. IWnet made no sense for the older crowd, and BC2 feels like you're in control of a crack head who did not get their fix in 36 hours. If I had to pick one though, I enjoyed BC2 more than MW2 on many levels which includes a dedicated server (although gimped), team style dependent game play, and level design.

I understand the pulse firing, but it is hard and, IMO, retarded that you have to train your brain that when you are firing at someone with the cross hairs pointed at their stomach from 8 yards that you are actually missing them because you are not pulsating...

In MW2 you kill in one burst. That is the bottom line and why I didn't like BC2 after a while. Plus I hate spawn killing and the way people abuse the vehicles in ALL battlefield games.
