Front license plates

Do you really want to have a car desinged by idiots?

The Corvette was not designed by idiots, but (IMHO) looks weird when the front end has a plate...

Yes, they're required, but the fine for not having one is like $11 (well, you also have to put it on the car and get a cop to sign off that it's there, but then you can take it back off again), and most cops dont care anyway.

There is a network of CNG filling stations in California, the LA and SF areas are pretty well covered as most bus and taxi fleets use CNG now. I typically use the SoCal Gas Santa Monica base station as it's right around the corner from work.

Wonder if you have to have it up in WA ... I live in California but I don't have a front plate. Been meaning to go to the dealership and buy some dealer brackets so that I don't have to drill into my front bumper ... but now that I'm moving up to WA ... I wonder if I can get away with it. In my area you can ... because most cops over look that unless they're already giving you a ticket.

they are not required in Indiana. if you believe the older residents, it is because they stopped requiring them during WW2 to conserve the scrap metal, and just never switched back. the plates are not required for the front, but the given reason why is an urban legend at best.

I think the issue is AMERICAN license plates - which are an ODD size to put on most front ends. Internationally, plates are long and thin - ours are like fscking big ugly boxes.
