So normally I post here listing just 1 particular item or something but this time around there's quite a few good deals in the entire ad, not sure which will interest who.

For starters I'm picking up a Corsair 400R, the Formula 7 diamond TIM, and some accent lighting since they're so cheap ($6 for the latter 2 with $6 rebates). Also a pretty good deal is the MyPassport Edge 500GB for $39!

http://www.frys.com/template/onad/pr...P_BANNER:Spot1

Just browse through the ad, you might find something you like even if you weren't searching for something. Note though that this is mainly B&M only, a lot of the really low priced stuff doesn't seem to be available for online orders or even for in-store pick-up.

I went yesterday and they were out of most cheap things. I got one of them $7 tablet stylus (free after mir) and a few of those 99 cent 6 inch micro USB. Lets see if Monster has better built quality than monoprice. I swear I have gone through at least 10 monoprice micro USB cables. The ends on those things are so cheap that they wear out after a month or two.

Whoever came up with 'See price at final checkout' needs to be drawn & quartered. I actually will not patronize any company that utilizes this tactic.

Some manufacturers don't allow prices below their retail to be plainly advertised. I know Sony does this. So while it is a nuisance to have to see a price in a cart or at checkout it's not always the seller(s) fault that it has to be that way.

Your benefiting because the company is not actually allowed to sell or advertize for that price. If they did then that would be the last time they were able to purchase x product from said company. It sucks but when you see those deals know you can usually guarantee your getting the best deal

Yeah but why does it have to go all the way to the final step before showing it? I could possibly except having to view it in the shopping cart but not all the way to the end. It's just silly to me and appears more of a cheap stunt than an attempt at appeasing manufacturers.

This was already explained to you. I know you are trying to save face for your naïve temper tantrum, but give up.

You ever see "Genuine Apple Products" posted with reduced prices anywhere?

Of course not. That is because Apple dictates what their pricing is. On a lesser degree, so do other manufacturers.

This. Some companies won't let you put an item on sale or even use a coupon. I know of a company that will cut you off if you offer the item 1 penny below retail, eBay included. You can do a 10% store wide or BF sale but their items must be excluded. Like it or not it keeps the brand value high. The positive is the used resale value remains very high.

This is true. I work at Officemax and sometimes the ink ads will say "excludes HP ink", but then the coupon takes it right off anyway.

All I got was the Monster (haha, joke's on me) surge protector and I'm not sure it's even a great deal.

I think you overreacted more than he did.

Loop2kil's point is demonstrated if you look at how Amazon handles this situation. They display a "See price in cart" placeholder, and once you've added the item to your shopping cart, you know what it costs.

Even if certain manufacturers enforce a minimum advertised price, you don't have to force the customer through checkout to discover the price.

is the MBP not a "genuine apple product"? because in the ad posted in this thread, its shows it 100 off at the 1099 price

Amazon does the same thing in some cases, it is dictated by the manufacturer. From Amazon's help page on the topic...
Why don't we show the price?
Retailers like Amazon have the legal right to set their own prices independently, but some manufacturers place restrictions on how those prices may be communicated. Because our price on this item is lower than the manufacturer's "minimum advertised price," the manufacturer does not allow us to show you our price until you take further action, such as placing the item in your shopping cart, or in some cases, proceeding to the final checkout stage. The steps required depend on the details of the manufacturer's minimum advertised price policy. Taking these steps allows Amazon to show you our price consistent with our goal of always offering you the lowest possible prices on the widest selection of products.

Probably derailing the thread here, probably should get back on topic.

Yes - I bought my iPad 2 at Microcenter for $449 (advertised) when it was $499 everywhere else. Only Microcenter seems to do this, though.

Bought one of these ASUS GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 GeForce GTX 660 2GB http://www.frys.com/product/7551666?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

For $169.99 after rebate using an online order for store pickup. Got there just before closing time. The video card was not part of my order when they pulled it and set it aside. I had to wait around for 15 minutes while it was brought from the PC dept. I forgot to confirm the free game coupon code for Metro was included in the sale, until I installed the card a day later. And I live an hour from the store.

So I called them up today and asked them how they could fix this. First, the store manager said I had to return to the store to claim it. I naturally balked over this, and he connected me to the customer service supervisor. I gave them my invoice number and he confirmed the order. I asked him how they track these game coupons, through the PC dept. or through the cashiers when you check out, and told him to check. He never said how they track these, but gave me an extra game code for Assassin's Creed 3 for my trouble!

A lot of high value but small items like tablets and smartphones are locked in a cage at the front of every store. When you got the video card they should have cleared the game code from that cage at the front if they had any, probably gave you AC3 since the item it's tied to doesn't sell that well or people don't usually ask for it and either A) they couldn't find or were out of metro codes or B) have no idea wtf Metro is.
