Fry's Coming to Seattle Area

OK, this isn't a hot deal yet. Saw in the newspaper today that Fry's is looking to put a store in Renton this year. We will finally be able to get those good deals!

Plus I know where they are building it.. according to the "rumor" it'll be built right around the Kenworth plant..

The article was in yesterdays Tacoma News Tribune. Here it is: Fry's Article It isn't a done deal yet, but it looks good.

Took my first trip to Fry's yesterday to the one in Fremont, northern cali.

Bought a Samsung 54 inch projection TV for 799$, a Pacific Digital Mach 24x10x40 CD-RW (really just a lite-on CDRW) for 79$ after rebate, and an Apex DVD/VCD/MP3/CD Player for 69.99$. Going back today to buy a phillips 43 inch TV for 799$ for our house (54 incher was for my dads bar)

BTW, if u want to know about the evil story of Fry's salesmen being paid by commission... i got a good one

Someone refresh my memory. I've seen numerous posts here with people b*tching and moaning about Fry's, but I've never really paid attention because there are no stores even remotely close to Seattle/Tacoma. What is the deal with Fry's????

About 5 months ago, Clark Howard on his radio show mentioned that Fry's is looking to open 2 locations, one in Gwinnette (?sp) and one in Alpharetta. I haven't heard anything about it ever since. But while in California last month I went to a fry's store (it was like 4 times the size of Best Buy) and spoke to a manager about possible store opening in the Atlanta area. He wasn't aware of that particular location but said that Fry's is going nationwide. Just have to wait and see I suppose.
