I know it may seem like we don't care and aren't working on things, but we're doing as much as we possibly can right now.

This thread is over due here, and I appologize. I hope you all know that if there are this many problems on the front end, the back end administration and moderation tools have also been incredibly subpar.

We needed FT to address a high volume of very critical site maintanence and management issues before we move on to the more visible issus that you guys are seeing and reporting on. I'm very sorry you've had to wait so long for these fixes, and I really wish I could give you a date they'll all be fixed. The best I can do is try to maintain an open list of issues for now. As their fixed, I'll make a note of it here. I'll edit this post with issues you guys point out below.

It would really be helpful if you guys could give me a screenshot for all visual issues as well. I'll link screens up here too so other members can see what we're dealing with easily.

Suggestions on order of importance will also be accepted.

Here's my list:

1) Search is still flakey

2) cookie emoticon is missing
***FIXED

3) we can only view topics from a few months back no matter what setting is used in profiles
***FIXED -- Partial, search with "archived messages" works, but can only browse 3 months.

4) My Forums - ''Hot Topics" and "Recent topics that I have Started" both return only one result
***FIXED

5) the page can get pushed off the right side of the screen without a scroll bar (making features unaccessible)
***FIXED -- Partial, things extend past browser edge, but scroll bar shows up now

6) using https link in reply adds an extra "https://" to the link
***FIXED

7) member ratings show up even though rating is disabled

8) ignored users not working correctly (clarify?)

9) no last page link in threads
***FIXED

10) highlighting of visited threads
***FIXED

11) highlighting of visited links
***FIXED

12) censorship popup doesn't identify censored word and/or replace with ****
***FIXED

13) truncated category names in side bar and top menu
***FIXED

14) list of categories in advanced search arranged in either alpha-num or category order

15) left side of posts avatars/user information block too large

16) easy way to unsubscribe from threads without having to hit subscribe again

17) buddy list should be below categories

18) online users should be ordered alpha-num
***FIXED

19) forums need a list of multiple pages to jump to rather than just next page
***FIXED

20) browsing speed is horrible
***FIXED

21) posting speed can be >30 seconds
***FIXED

22) PM read/unread status is backwards
***FIXED

23) "Ooops! You encountered an error, we have let the webmaster know about the problem." happens a lot and shouldn't.
***FIXED -- Partial, happens less frequently now.

24) Only available background color is white -- we need at least one dark style with low contrast message body, and one with a light on dark rather than dark on light.

25) tab from within quick reply should go to the "reply" button

26) when a moderator edits a members post, the member should get a PM notification on edit

27) the H markup (for highlighting) matches text to background color in message body (creates invisible text).
***FIXED

28) IE6/opera layout and formatting issue: forum pushed down under side bar
***FIXED

29) search with display as messages only works on first results page: First Page, Second Page
***FIXED

30) Search Topic (within thread) does nothing; all it does is reload the whole thread.
***FIXED

31) nested quotes don't work right anymore
***FIXED

32) page navigation buttons at the bottom of the thread are sometimes displayed incorrectly.

33) threads get covered part way down the page. see this thread for details. Related to a https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362331">possible issue with FireFox</a>.
***FIXED

34) using mouse wheel, page up/down, spacebar in IE 7 doesn't always work (need to click on the page background, not sidebar or message body).

35) the link to mark messages as read/unread no longer works (keeps the marked the same).

36) thread ratings always show "0 ratings have been cast" rather than the actual number of ratings cast.

37) firefox rendering issue: vertical scroll bar on right side of messages in topic

38) disgusted emoticon doesn't work: isgust; -- the : d gets caught before processing the entire emoticon ... this did not used to be a problem.

39) Star ratings sometimes break and display text instead.

...
It would really be helpful if you guys don't discuss the issues here but just add stuff you've seen that isn't in this list or hasn't recently been posted (after the last time I updated the list).

If you experience any strange "fusetalk expired" errors or downtime, it is very likely that we are applying an update. Please be patient with us while we are trying to fix these issues.

I remember hearing about FF specific rendering issues -- any have any screenshots?

24) Only available background color is white.

25) Unable to Tab to Reply button from within Quick Reply Field.

26) Unexplained outages (6/17 and 6/20) still unexplained.

27) Authors of posts not notified of moderator edits (feature request).

Thank you Derek for getting the ball rolling on this. I hope the people who address these issues directly won't be shy about posting here about it.

To add to #24, a retro theme would be nice

Also, any way that the buttons could be regular links and not java so we could middle mouse click em for tabs, or would that be asking too much?

The following has been mentioned several times by different people. I don't know what to call it. It happens randomly for me but it happens quite often. IE6 WinXP.

The entire message portion of a forum page appears underneath the left menu bar and ad. I'm always thinking that the page hasn't finished loading, but after awhile I scroll down and - there it is.

Minor malfunction for me:

advanced search
author: allisolm
category: Hot Deals
Display results as: messages

page 1 of results - everything shows as messages as requested
page 2 of results - everything shows as topics, not messages

After going to page 2 (or farther if they exist), if I then click on 1 or previous or <<, the results again show as topics, not messages.

I guess allisolm's issues are #s 28 and 29?

30) Search Topic (within thread) does nothing. I use it to search a thread for a word I know should be in there, all it does is reload the whole thread.

Instead of getting an oops webmaster error I now get a server timed out page after 1-2 seconds of loading, in a few seconds it is okay again. I assume this is maintenance?

Here's a new one on me...
"<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/Blain/WhatsUp.jpg">I appears that your current installation of FuseTalk has expired.
Please contact FuseTalk Sales or visit our on-line store to purchase a full license</a>"

I got the message in IE and Firefox several times when trying to access the forums.

what buttons?

Never mind it has already been fixed.
It has? I must be missing something.... at least with the page number buttons.
In multi-page threads i would load the 2nd page while reading the 1st page, and so on. Saves a bit of time being on dial-up.

You're right, but when I went to go look forgot what buttons it was. Yes these were the ones I meant.

Not sure if it's a bug or not, but having the Forum titles get truncated with the ... is kinda annoying.

Some of them don't even need to be truncated, yet they are anyway! For example. why does the "Highly Technical" forum get abbreviated to "Highly Technica..."?

none of the themes display correctly in opera other then the default one ( specificially the side bar)

there is no DARK theme, where ylou have a Black or Grey background with white text

the currently logged in users really needs to be turned off

placement of Buddies and catagories pannels need to be switched

names for forums and threads need to stop being truncated

can you link a screenshot of the display issues other than the "forum below sidebar" issue?

we've already got the buddies and category list swap and the truncation issue up there. we've asked for a dark, low contrast theme, but i'll make a note of a light on dark theme request.

we're not removing the online users box.

Thanks.
Not only that, there's no more side scrolling action due to controls positioned off screen. I think that was #5 on the list thought the list claims no scroll bar.

Also there's a new quote format going on.

Just curious, is this your doing or an update that Fusetalk has submitted to you as a patch?

edit: "this" being the last button, truncating topics, etc.

Tegeril,

In the past, our web developer has modified FuseTalk to suite our needs or fix our bugs. This voided our support contract with FuseTalk. In part, the move to FT 3.0 was to get us on FuseTalk supported code. We are unable to fix bugs ourselves at this point.

To more directly answer the question, "this" was an update that FuseTalk submitted to us as a patch. They are already working on a second patch to address a second set of less critical errors ... this first patch fixed a lot of behind the scenes issues and admin/mod tools.

The cutting off the screen is still there even after this most recent patch.

Sorry Derek, I just realized you've already confirmed this. Thank you for your time and dedication. We all truly appreciate it!
