FTP setup help

A buddy of mine is trying to set up an ftp server. Except only one person is able to get a directory listing. Everyone else gets a time out error. any ideas?

How are the users trying to connect?

If it is through a web browser the server needs to be set in PASSIVE mode.

I'm using filezilla and no luck.

To set it to PASSIVE MODE, go to:

FileZilla \ Options \ Connection \ Firewall settings
and check 'Passive Mode'

Also, are you using a router?

Yeah, we figured out it was the router. The one guy that could get through was not using one.
