Ya you might want to change that title to "amd supplied overview of Fury nano".

That said the numbers they provided are a bit more specific than the usual generic performance graph. Noticed a lot of odd settings on the games though, like no AA.

The Nano does look good on paper, I don't see how anyone can deny that. It's just a question of whether anyone trusts that paper. Needs real reviews.

That was certain from the start.

If 650$ is true however, then its DOA already.

But I've been assured by some prolific posters, you should be quite familiar with at least one, that power efficiency is extremely important and certainly worth a hefty premium.

Problem is you could get the same for ~1 year now. Its the standard, not a premium.

This R9 HBM lineup is so horribly priced it's ridiculous.

So much for AMD shaking the game up with a GPU release. I'll buy used at best. Good for me, bad for AMD since most used buyers in my area literally are saying in their ad "Selling my cards to buy a 980Ti."

It was also hard to imagine them selling full Fiji chips for cheap in a Nano.

Well a lot of posters here claimed it would easily be a $450-$500 chip and that it was worth it at that price. Now, at $650, those same posters are saying it's still worth that price....

It's shown me just how much of cheerleaders there are on both sides.

When do we expect actual reviews though? Because the only performance numbers we have are from AMD, which really doesn't mean much of anything.

Another Edit: I think this will be an interesting thread to follow to see how nonGPU enthusiasts take it:

(Will remove if not supposed to link to other forums like this).

Interesting to see how more gamer oriented users take a launch/situation vs how we take it as enthusiast gpu users.
That and IGN but I don't like to step foot there.

Edit2: The only thing I like about this lineup from AMD, is the cooling is far better on the cards that are available. It's a lot harder to get a badly cooled unit. Hopefully user experiences are better in that regard and helps AMD out there. I do expect that if anyone actually does get any of the new R9 cards, they'll be happy with the premium product they're getting. Fury X, Nano look amazing in terms of quality. Fury itself has the Sapphire model, so AMD definitely has amazing cooling/acoustics this go around.

If it's a premium chip, then supply is going to be very limited. Probably enough to satisfy a niche mini gpu market. Sadly, it looks like a product incapable of disrupting the gpu market.

I wonder how lower were they able to go with the real power consumption. It's an interesting product, but not disruptive, not special at all.

It amazes me how tight the grouping for these cards are. There is barely separation between the 390x, the Fury and the Fury Nano outside of things like power usage. The cut down Fury is the odd duck out, but they have to do SOMETHING with the leftover silicon.

Seems like in retrospect a better move have been to NOT refresh the 390x (only have a 390) and then release the cut down Fury at around 390x prices. That would have created a LOT of enthusiasm for AMD in this current market.

Anyone know if there might actually be a display port to HDMI port adapter?
Kinda sucks no TV has freesync function.
I'm thinking perhaps waiting for a 50+ in freesync monitor and use that as a TV, that would at least work around the lack of HDMI 2.0

I thought that AA at 4K wasn't noticeable/necessary.

Anti-Aliasing maybe not (for me, AA is not a must have feature even at 1920x1080).

But Anisotropic Filtering (AF) is very important for image quality. It has a huge visual impact.

Actually I am planning to make a opinión thread about the incomming GPU dissasters... Because HBM.

We saw AMD failing HARD because the architecture and if that is not the cause (Fury Nano), the price is the killer one. AMD is also losing faith to the console makers.
Definately MS will ditch AMD due their dissaster called Xbox One. Maybe the next Gen will have a Kabylake i5 processor with 512 Mb HMC Memory for their iGPU.

But... NVIDIA doesn't have the experience on HBM and remember that in the beginning, the first card they release with new tech ends bad... Really bad. And maybe their 1st generation will be awful.

Intel on the other side has MANY advantages now... HMC is about to be mainstream. They have some NVIDIA licences, some of them, important to nVIDIA.
To make it better, they announced that Kabylake will be the FULL GPU revamp they expect in order to enter to the GPU race.
Finally, they are the monopoly and the competition will have a hard time with HBM. Also HBM2 will be hella expensive and HBM1 will be mid tier chips.

So Intel might be the ultimate winner sooner than expecting.

In my opinion the pricing is a fail. I was expecting $399 and i got a shocker of $649.
I don't know who will buy this card because i don't think anyone will. This card will be a flop right out of the gate at that price. Expect AMD to cut the price to $499 in just a couple of months in time for the holiday shopping season. You might want to wait until the end of the year to get a good price on this card. Don't buy it at launch. 100% guaranteed price cut shortly after launch.
