Oblivious moron? sure, i have my moments.

Odds are I'm not going down there tomorrow, I just needed to vent my anger. No sense at all in causing a scene over something that can't be proven for either side. I lose, and that sucks.

I'm sure all of you could see where I'm coming from, I bet if this happened to you guys you'd be just as pissed off. And I dont want to hear "well I dont leave my phone places so it'll never happen" or anything along those lines. Nobody is perfect. And somehow I know I'm going to catch some kind of sarcastic shite for saying that nobody is perfect.

I'm sure NONE of us could see where you are coming from. you are a moron. your rant is stupid.

most intelligent people would have ranted about what an idiot they were for leaving there phone where it doesn't belong but you want to blame Dunkin Donuts (where they are very careless in their work but despite their carelessness you have been going their for MONTHS. ).

you are just an idiot.

Hmmm ... bet you wish you had phone insurance now!

i'll be the first to testify that the phone insurance is a big waste of money....
i had it .... let's see, you pay like $5 a month, and there is a $50 deductible, plus $15 for shipping of a new phone... basically, you're just putting your own money in someone else's piggy bank hoping you'll collect it someday.

it's still op's fault losing his phone in the first place however....

im pretty sure you can just add the phone insurance to your acct online, so they're never able to verify you're phone is broken ATM. deal with a crappy beat up phone for two weeks. lose out on $5 for a months insurance. get new razr.?
Fraud, it's what's for dinner!

Are you surprised?
Sadly, no. Nor that exodus454 admitted to us all that he's planning to carry out this fraud.

It's a good thing I never applied to become Vengeful Mod.
After the first couple of posts i kind of figured it would lead to exactly what he is planning on doing. (and no, i didn't PM him with the suggestion)

it's funny, after i chew out sprint pcs for how sucky their insurance is...
the guys in the sprint pcs store actually suggested that, people shouldn't get insurance until they need it. imagine that....

Normally I wouldnt complain, I'd say it was my fault and such, but I've been going to this dunkin donuts for months now and the people there are careless in there work. This place is not very well maintained, and I wouldnt put it past them if they did find it and then someone accidently stepped on it or dropped something on it or something like that. I'm not saying someone intentionally started stomping on it, I'm saying I believe the carelessness of the staff at that place most likely contributed to the condition my phone is in.

Tomorrow I plan on going in there and asking them where the phone was found.. sure, its possible a customer did something to it but I think a $250 phone is worth at least a little investigating.

And yes, there's such thing as phone insurance. Cingular offers it for something like $5/mo, and they will replace a phone no questions asked. I've never had a problem with losing or breaking a phone in the past, so I just decided it was a waste of money.
It might have been damaged before it was turned over to the DD staff.

Let's ban this whiney baby for his incredibly weak rant. Also lets report his ass to his cell phone provider for wanting to commit fraud by wanting to now get phone insurance and claiming it in a few months down the road.

Here's what happened- you dropped it on the floor, people stepped on it, and then it was found. Duh.

i agree.

anyone who admits to commiting fraud on here should be banned. hopefully the OP gets caught and the phone company says no to his claim.

Time to dial up the old fraud hotlines and hope for a reward.

Buy a new one on ebay for like 1/3 to half the retail price, or just shut up and accept it.

Ditto to mugs. In addition to the "left soft key" which maps to ANSWER, the "send key" (colored green) will answer calls. I believe this is common to most cell phones, and thus that your reasoning is incorrect.

Did you buy a RAZR V3i? Cingular started offering them fairly recently, and it's listed at $300 -$50 rebate with 2yr contract.

I've heard that the RAZR has a reputation for being fragile (versus dropping), but I think your assertion that the screen damage was caused by pressing is correct.

Doesn't Cingular use SIM cards? If so, it is always a possibility that someone wanted a newer looking phone and they changed the SIM cards.

Whatever though, you left your phone somewhere so it is all your fault and no one elses. Stop being a whiney baby and buy a new phone.

F all DDs or just yours ? Or just the few people who worked there during the 3 hours ? Or just the patrons who may have run into it ? Or your coworker who dropped it accidentally while walking out ? Who is to blame ? Blame 'em all why don't you ?

Got Ethics?

Apparently not.

I listed it as an idea because I knew someone who did it once, im not in anyway saying for the OP to actually go out and do it. In fact, I would hope he doesn't, because then when it comes time for me to get a new phone, its going to cost more because my service provider and the phone companies will have to keep raising prices to keep up with the cost of the insurance scams.

I bought a razr about a month ago off craigslist for $80. I say buy a new one, take the loss, and find something to keep that phone strapped to you at all time ;x I don't make a ton of money cause I'm still in college, but personally things like my psp, ds, and cell phone did cost me a decent chunk of change, and i make sure everyime i leave a place that i have them all with me. Perhaps take better care of your belongings and if you are going to be careless, buy a cheap-o $10 phone that you can replace over and over if need be.

I don't feel like reading the rest of the thread to find out if anyone asked this already

1) Do you suppose your coworker could have been the one who damaged the phone?
2) Phones can still work even if the screen is broken, meaning it could have been broken when you dropped it
3) Got a warranty?
