So who should I believe? Snowman and Bouzouki, or Anand??????
Snowman and Bouzouki seem like good guys, but Anand is a famous hardware reviewer, and I've replicated his findings with my own 9700P and 5800U.
Who can a guy trust? Anand? Bouzouki? Snowman?
I'll have to think about that a while.
Anandtech's Moratorium on the NV3x.
You can rest assured that when ATI someday figures out how to build it's second generation DX9 part, it will be better than it's predecessor too? ;-)
I've never said the nV3X line was better than the R300 line, because it's not.
What I've always said is that the difference in gaming,
at playable settings is not great enough to warrant this ridiculous fanboy monkey spanking over a card that was marginally better.
You guys act like the 9700Pro was the R520 and 5800U was a S3 Virge.
Unlike 99.9999% of you, I had both and can tell you for the most part you couldn't tell the difference with the counter off, except for the tiny hairdryer whine of the FlowFX.
BTW- while you're right that 53 vs 45 at UT2003 is a 17% victory for the 9700Pro, most UT2003 players who like to survive would never play at either?
