Recently, I've had the misfortune of both my faithful Radeon 7500 and my newer FX5200 card pushing up daisies, so to speak. After the acquisition of my new AXP-M setup, it seemsed to take but a month of so for the FX5200 to die on me. It works up until you hit the actual win2k login, or until it has to switch from 16 color mode. Same goes for the Radeon 7500, but the Radeon 7500 hsf wasn't plugged in, and died right after an intense Q3A session. But the way they aren't functioning is exactly the same, and the FX5200 was definitely cooled properly.
So, my question to you all is, is there hope left for either of these cards? They are obviously functioning at some sort of low-level, but anything over 16 colors doesn't like to run. Could I flash them or something, anything? I did order a new video card, but it will be a week and a half, and I'd like to atleast have a working card or two incase something happens, or incase a friend/family member needs one, etc. Why waste a card that can be fixed, right?
Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
