These will become collectors items! Buy it for $35 and keep it in mint condition for however many years and then sell it for more than what you bought it for. Mint condition unopened original Transformers go for a couple of hundred. I saw an auction on ebay for 5 original g1 transformers in mint unopened box go for over $1k, and people were bidding on it! $35 might seem a lot now but just think of it as an investment.

hmm.... i don't recall ever seeing any of those that amazon had listed on there....

I still have my transformers from back in the same 80's era, but I guess I had all except those. But then again, I did have M.A.S.K. toys too

unfortuneately these are re-issues, so you won't get the same box as the original transformers you bought in the 80's. Real collectors will want the original box, not a 35 dollar remake.

And they FINALLY came out with Unicron... took them long enough. I got a ton of G1's back home, not exactly mint though. I even remember gettin in trouble at school once for bringing Megatron, ya know, the handgun with scope and silencer The complete set of Contructicons was the bomb!!

the unicron that's out right now is a sorry example of a transformer. :frown: The only thing that they got close to being right was maybe the color on it.

All my toys need to double as weapons in case of an emergency. If some dude breaks into my house, i want to pistol-whip him with the original die-cast megatron, not some cheap plastic remake.

megatron and shockwave, i would be surprised if they rereleased them since they are based on guns.

the rereleases are available at toys r us, but their selection varies.

These are just like the old ones. Some parts are die-cast, some are plastic. Unfortunately, the only one I want is Star Scream, and I don't see him.

At 35 bucks these are not a bargain. Sure, they may be collectibles someday, but not for a good ten years, and not for anywhere near what the original ones are worth. I hate Transformers Armada, but my kids get the $10 ones except when grandma goofs and gets a $35 Prowl (who is a MINI-CON in Armada!) and a $35 Hoist. Considering my boys are 2 years old (got Hoist) and 5 (got Prowl)... Well, thats all I'll say.

It's good to see some real toys coming back compared to most of the crap on the store shelves today. Transformers, M.A.S.K., and Legos were my favorites during my childhood. My aunt actually bought me Skywarp as a birthday present....man, was that a surprise since it was the first that I had seen of these re-issues.

Even though these are re-issues, they will be the closest that some people can get to the originals, so they might go up in value pretty fast.

Same here. I've been seeing the G1 for quite some time. Like them very much, but price is too high.
