G9 Replacement Mouse Feet?

I've been looking around and really can't find any good quality replacement mouse feet for the Logitech G9. I talked with Logitech and they shipped me out their generic OEM replacement set, but they're already noticeably worn (im using an Icemat 2 frosted glass pad). So I'm looking for perhaps a bit more resilient pads made of better quality material, a smoother glide would be great too.

I've checked out hyperglide but their US retailer is out of stock and the website looks dead anyways. I've also seen slicksurf skates but doesn't appear they have any for the G9. Which other alternatives are there for the G9 skates?

Also suppose I should mention I live in the US

I don't really know about replacement feet. I have the G500 (they replaced my G5 with it) and I've been using teflon tape to keep the feet from getting worn. I just replace the tape every couple of months to keep a nice clean slide.

I got mine off ebay and it was like 3 bucks shipped so there was not a whole lotta risk involved. Just make sure you look up Teflon Mouse Tape and make sure the description specifies that it's slick for mice. Don't buy teflon plumbing tape which is used to seal threads. It won't do anything for you unless you have leaky plumbing somewhere that needs it.

hm? weird, i thought the replacements from logitech would work better than that esp since the surface area of the feet on these mice are so huge.

well you can go to cshyde for skivved 3mil ptfe teflon tape of the correct width, that is what I use over my g9 feet.

Yeah, the logitech feet are okay for general use, but I game pretty heavy and ontop of that I have an icemat which is basically like fine sand paper. The generic mouse feet for the g9 from logitech wear away really fast on it. I've been looking at the teflon tape but didn't know anyone who'd tried it. I'll look more into that. I recently got a graphic pen tablet so I'm not as worried now as I was, takes a bit of stress off the mouse anyways. Thanks for the info

Tip: Unplug the mouse before you start working on it. Otherwise you might look at the IR laser accidentally.

Are laser mice dangerous to look at?

Yeah, because a laser beam is much brighter than a regular lightbulb of the same wattage, since the energy remains concentrated. The IR laser on the mouse is *mostly* invisible but it can still damage your retina. You'd have to hold it still so the beam is shining into your eye though, so the odds are low that you'd accidentally laser your eye.

While cleaning my mouse feet I've noticed a red flash for a split second when the beam happened to hit my eye, so if you looked at it you'd know.

well i'm pretty sure it has a proximity sensor or something and turns off when you lift it off the desk.
