Which would be faster, this GTS 512 or crossfired 2900xts? I play DX10 Company of Heroes and Crysis; also Quake 4 and ET: QW. I split my gaming pretty evenly between 1280x720 and 1920x1200.

I'm going to guess the 2900's but power consumption will be crazy. Almost better off selling the 2900 and getting a GT/GTS/3850/3870 SLI/Crossfire.

The Asus with 3 years warranty isn't half bad since most 8800gt are priced $300.

Looking at benchmarks, I don't think this is worth the extra $$ over the 512 GT card. Seems odd that with the extra power and dual-slot cooler that this card isn't faster than it is.

Damn, looks like I gotta wait for the new higher-end cards. I didn't want to wait that much longer.

You can find them cheaper than that.

I decided to order one. I am tired playing these pricing games and so I broke down I bought the Asus one. I hate single slot coolers and I always run AA, something the ATI card cannot do as effectively. This thing should tide me over for a while...

Only problem I find with sub-par e-tailers is that many of them do not have my zip-code, they call it invalid... My Zip Code was changed 2 years ago... Why in the hell can companies not update their records of what is legit or not? Consquently, perhaps, my order may get denied because the postal code doesn't exist accoridng to them and my that is what my credit card company has on file.

The Asus price looks okay. They'll probably shoot to $375+ pretty quick anyway. G92 chip supply is still quite low.

cool, man. Let me know how it goes. If I would have waited, I might as well have bought one too . My 8800GT is already on its way.

I'll prob step up to an 9800GTX in Feb anyway.

Just as I figured, it said my credit card was declined. I am not going to bother even attempting to make the order go through. If they cannot bother to update the postal codes once a year, then they don't deserve my money. E-wiz is on my shit list 4ever.

Sucks for you. I like eWiz, and I spend a lot of money with them. Just ordered $700 worth of memory from them last week.

I would say the GTS 512 will be faster. It really all depends on the individual game's support for CF... on older games with mature CF support you will get a large benefit pushing them over the GTS... on newer game with immature support the GTS 512 will win...

Since those older games don't matter much ANYWAYS (they will get over 60fps for both situations anyways and you probably already played them) then I would go with this one card.

In fact, I Would go with a 8800GT and wait for the next high end (geforce 9)

Nice correction. for that.

I like the way the new GTS looks. Looks a lot 'cooler' than previous models.

Thenerds has the eVGA base model in stock, $357 with free shipping. I have no idea if they are an "authorize retailer" so I don't know if the step-up would work.

Saw the XFX Alpha Dog edition sitting on the shelf at Fry's, priced at $399. No idea if it's overclocked or not.
