Hi All:

Got a new 2.4B C1 from Japan (SL6DV, 02 week 50 Malay) and installed it on my GA-8INXP (decided to keep the second board - Took it off e***Y

Bios: F3
AGP/PCI: 68/34
Power Module: Parallel
CPU: 2.4B C1 (SL6DV)
Memory: 1G Kingston HyperX PC3500 at 2/5/2/2 at default vdimm

Currently running at 167FSB, DC-DDR 334. Cannot declare Rock Stable yet as I have not run Prime95. Went through the usual benckmarks and completed all of them successfully.

Sandra: 4118
3DMark: 12538 (Leadtek TI4200 A250 LE TD)
PCMARK: 7298/7898/1105

The board is overvolting I think, Easy Tune is reporting as VCore of 1.6V when I have it set to 1.55 in the BIOS. Temps: Idle 34, Full Load: 45. Ambient 70.

This board is faster than the Aopen AX4R+ (my opinion), all features of the board works. Not using RAID though.

as for your easytune reading of 1.6 volts, make sure that you manually set that setting to 1.55 using easytune. then save the setting and then make sure it loads saved settings on boot. i noticed this was a problem as to why my chip was running a little hotter than expected, since easytune was setting my chip to 1.6 all the time.

Thanks, I checked and the CPU voltage is exactly what it is set in the BIOS. However when I check the monitor section of EasyTune, it is displaying VCoreA: 1.61V. So what am I doing wrong?

Any idea if I can use Motherboard monitor? When I start up MBM I hear faint beeps from the machine so I uninstalled it. I don't trust this EasyTune thing. Unnecessary gimmick with a horrible user interface.

curious... i just got back on my main system to do some checking... ok..

so in the bios my cpu voltage is set to 1.55 and then also i had to manually set easytune to give it 1.55 (it defaults and automatically gives it 1.6). now on the reading i'm getting a reading from 1.58-1.6 . i'm not really sure if that's in the "ok" range or if that it's in the "over-voltage" range. anyways i hope this helps.

ok i just did a check using sandra 2003 and it shows that my cpu voltage is 1.54 ... so i'm just guessing the easytune readings are a bit off.

Yes you can use MBM. Search for 8inxp here... i think it's in PastorJay's thread, near the end. BFG or somebody that has a name similar to that gives instructions (that work great, btw) for using MBM with the GA board.

Thanks guys. I finally for MBM installed successfully. No more easy tune for me. Vocre is about .02 higher than what I have set in the BIOS. OTher voltages are right on mark and does not budge on intense stress, like running Prime95. Amazing. Never seen MB regulation like this.

Anyway Prime95 failed at 167FSB at 1.6V. Bumped FSB down to 160 and it is running now. I doubt all the posts I am seeing about 170+ FSB overclock is Prime95 stable. However I ran ALL benchmarks just fine including Sandra burn in test. Super PI runs fine too. I am stumped why Prime95 would fail after an hour.
