A hundred doallrs more than the GT I got a buy.com, I think I will sit with what I got. Especially looking at all the bench's lately, seems foolish for me to tempt fate. I would get the card and be stuck with two very expensive video cards..

I compared the numbers they list, and they are the same as what Gainward lists on their site for the Ultra cards.

However, I still think this could be a wrong listing, as the person who put that info might have only read the Ultra part of the name and just searched for that on Gainward's site.

Compucare is listing the numbers for both the standard Ultra and the Golden Sample version, so there's no way to tell which one they are actually trying to sell here.

Believe me, I hope that it turns out to be the Golden Sample Ultra, or at least the regular Ultra, but I'm too skeptical after the other problems that have arisen.

Here's the link if you wanna check: Text

Oh, and even Gainwards GTs have dual DVI, so basically the only difference between the regular GT and the Golden Sample Ultra is the clock speeds that Gainward warrants the card for. Even their regular 6800 has the same heatsink as their Ultra cards.

All the info is correct for the 6800 ultra. However, they list 2 different part numbers and 2 different bar code numbers, one is for the 6800 ultra non golden sample, the other is the for the 6800 ultra golden sample. Either of them is a steal at the moment for 400 compared to the price of any other 6800 ultra out there.

This is an acceptable deal even if it is a GT.

However, I am willing to bet they don't really even have these cards, none of them will ship, and you will have to wait days to get the hold off of your credit card.

I noticed that too about the VIVO, it's only Video Out -- but that's the case for all 6800 video cards right now as far as I can tell. Kinda sucks, but I'd much rather have Video Out than only have Video In.

Compucare is confusing in their listing because they list both the Standard and Golden Sample product numbers under Specifications, so I don't know which one it is. If it does still turn out to be the Standard, it is STILL a 6800 Ultra. Yes some 6800GT get kick-ass overclocks, but not 100% of them do. At least this way you are guaranteed 400/1100 for the price of a 6800GT. I'm sure even the Standard version will overclock a little bit. It has a kick-ass heatsink and fan on there.

Also, this is what they have listed above Specifications:

Gainward Ultra 2600TV/2xDVI256 MB NX6800Ultra AGP
Gainward NVIDIA GeForce? 6800 Ultra , Ultra/ 2600TV-DVI-DVI Golden Sample" -RETAIL

Because it doesn't say "Standard" anywhere there and it shows "Golden Sample" I suspect it is in fact the Golden Sample version. (Crossing my fingers!)

What is the diffrence and Do both cards come in Dual DVI...?If the standard does not than this is the 2xDVI version which would be the goldensample..

They say Golden sample"-Retail on the site ad across from the buy it $399.99

The only difference between the golden sample and the normal ultra that i can see is that gainward guarantees the golden sample to run at higher than stock ultra speeds. How much higher is unclear as they dont list the specific overclock. As was stated, they both come with dual dvi, even their GTs do.

Ok, people, read my 2nd post.

The only difference between the regular Gainward GT and the Golden Sample Ultra is the clock speeds that Gainward warrants the card for. ALL Gainward GTs and Ultras have the same HSF, dual DVI, and other specs. Clock speeds are the only differences.

I have the GT Golden Sample. My card is warranted for 6800 Ultra speeds, so I'm willing to guess that the Ultra GS is warranted for Ultra Extreme speeds (450/1200).

I was wrong about the normal GT. It has 2.0ns memory and only one DVI. And the GS Ultra supposedly happens to have a HighPerformance Copper Cooler.

Nice find noctdeus. Looks like even their standard Ultra comes overclocked.

This will easily be the hottest deal on the new gen cards if this comes through and they are Golden Sample Ultras. Good luck everyone, hope you get at least a standard Ultra out of the deal.

There is only one ! then....= this..... part number V680U2D6015 and golden sample and 2xdvi in the same add .........It can only be the "6800 ULTRA Golden Sample" ..end of story...
There are NO GT's with 2xDVI and there is only One Golden Sample with those part numbers matching all of they above.....****

Um, yes there are GTs with dual DVI.

I have one sitting in my computer right now.

Also, compucare listed both the numbers for the standard Ultra and the GS one, so it could be either.

Ok, I just noticed that the site says there are 3 flavors of Ultras: Standard, GS, and then Extreme. So the GS Ultra isn't rated for UE speeds. Wow, thats not confusing at all.

Gainward's naming system has been Ultra confusing in the Extreme for as long as I've been looking at their cards. They screw up the pricewatch searches as well.

Just to answer some questions:

1.Why are two part numbers listed?
The specifications of the card listed on the CompuCare website were simply cut-and-pasted from the Gainward.com website here.
They apparently didn't read the info they were plagiarizing because the gainward site is comparing the
'standard 6800 ultra' to the 'golden sample 6800 ultra'.
That's why CompuCare is listing part numbers for both the standard card and the GS card.

The card CompuCare is actually selling is:
---
Gainward Ultra2600 TV/2xDVI 256MB NX6800Ultra AGP
Gainward NVIDIA GeForce? 6800 Ultra , Ultra/2600 TV-DVI-DVI Golden Sample" -RETAIL
---
The first line seems to refer to the 'standard 6800 ultra', while the second line seems to refer to the 'Golden Sample 6800 ultra'.
The picture above the price, again ripped off the gainward website, shows the box for both the standard card and the GS card, where the silver label is for standard and gold label indicates GS. It could be either card.

2.Whichever card it is, the standard or the GS, why are they selling this 6800 ultra at $399.99, only to sell the plain-jane 6800 for $439.99??? ZipZoomFly is selling the GS 6800 ultra for $530.00, a 130 dollar difference.

This has to be a misprint, but mistake or no, ANY 6800ultra for $400 is a steal.

3.Just for clarification, what is the Golden Sample and how does it compare to the standard card?
According to the Gainward website the Golden Sample card is thus:
"With hand picked 3D graphics processor and carefully qualified high-quality memory chips, Gainward's famous "Golden Sample"? products feature "enhance mode" with factory-preset, over-clocked graphics core and memory speeds. Each Golden Sample? product is guaranteed to outperform NVIDIA standard reference design with rock-solid stability."

Interesting, they want more ($439) for the 6800 Non Ultra (gainward "ultra 2100").
Clearly a pricing mistake. Might get lucky though. The BBB listing is disturbing though. Fraud protection is a must on this deal.

Nice, 3.5 lifetime RR.

I'll pass, but thanks. GL

As it has been already determined, the RR place IS NOT the same place. Compucare is alive and well here in WA. They actually used to have more locations. One in Bellevue, which I've been to on several occasions. A very good friend of mine also worked at the one in Seattle while he was in college.

So, they are very much so in business, and do pretty well. However, I can't speak at all for their online service. If I had the time I'd go drive by one and see if they were selling it for that price in store. But I can't for 2 reasons. First, I don't have the time. And second, I definitely don't have the $$.

But lame 8.8% WA ST sales tax is a killer for me anyway

edit:

Regarding the BBB report, maybe because the Redmond location which it found it under, is no longer there? It's been a while since I've been to one of their shops, but I did know Bellevue closed, and as it looks, the one my friend worked at, on Aurora, moved.

But, they are still going, they have ads in the local publications every month, and occasionaly I come across one in the daily paper.

Had to jump on this as well. Tired of waiting for my gateway order which will never come. This one probably won't ship either, but I guess worth that 1% chance.

I bit and my credit card was instantly billed (or at least had a hold put on it). We'll see. I used a CitiCard with a one-time-use limited number, so I'm not too worried about it if it doesn't come through. I will ensure that I'm not the one who gets screwed if this company tries to screw me.
