Looks like at 1080p in single player my card could get 46 fps. Maybe more on ultra if I turn down msaa and use fxaa.
Fxaa is trash. Even MSAA in frostbite don't do a good job and is heavy on performance.

Here I'm using 125% supersampling and turning off msaa and fxaa (7970GHZ + 3930K 4ghz).

Hmm so does turning either of them off detract from the visuals?

Agreed about FXAA. Love me some SSAA for visuals only - performance...not so much, but I think I am going to need mantle before I can run 200% (2X) without it being a little sluggish. Of course that was on Beta. I still have to buy the full game.

With everything on Ultra with 200% resolution scale and no other AA - Beta though... 7950 X 2 @ 1000/1500

If your running SSAA, then no need for MSAA or FXAA.

Those graphs mean nothing as single player has Uber mode, and multi player only has silent mode.

Does it say this in the article?

The only thing I could find using Google Translator...

This is quite different in multiplayer mode. Here, without a very strong processor will be difficult to reach the next level in the world ranking players. The most demanding need a minimum of 60 frames / s, and so they could be provided only quad-core Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors, and ośmiowątkowe and best overclocked FX-s 8000 and 9000. But to make it work well, the best equipment in the ... Nvidia GeForce graphics card. It turns out that GeForce'ów drivers are much better optimized in terms of CPU load. Better use of multithreading, thus providing much higher performance is in multiplayer. Of course, refers to situations where the processor is limited. On a blank map of the relationships between graphics cards will probably be similar to the single player. How important is choosing the right card for the "multi" in Battlefield 4?

R9 290X seems to be the kicking ass at 1440p / 1600p .

BF4 multiplayer Siege of shangai

"SweClockers performs traditional measurements of frame rate with Fraps software. In Battlefield 4 is about honest multiplayer on Conquest Large variant of the map "Siege of Shanghai", where the testing is repeated at least three times for each configuration and tuning for a period of 180 seconds - a total of nine minutes or more.

In the test, two resolutions: 1920 x 1080 and 2560 x 1440 pixels, that is the most common levels of screens in sizes 23 to 24 inch and 27 inch. All video cards tested in the lower resolution, but selected models from the past generations even a game in the most demanding configuration."

BF4 singleplayer Singapore mission

"We tested the single player portion of the game to ensure consistent results -- something we simply can't do with others. We'd need a bunch players to participate in simulating a multiplayer environment for the benchmark and they'd all have to perform the same exact actions hundreds of times. We could have tested a multiplayer map by ourselves, but that would have likely been less demanding than single player."

We settled on the start of the fourth mission (titled "Singapore") which begins on the US vessel Valkyrie as the team walks to an inflatable rib where they have a brief discussion and then jump in before being lowered down. Although the test takes place in the Valkyrie's launch bay, the scene seems to use a lot of GPU and CPU power. There is heavy use of DoF (Depth of Field) here so perhaps that is what taxes the GPU."

Just my two cents - the GameGPU numbers look completely wrong (way too low) based on my experience on a 7870 and 670.

On the other hand, SWEClockers looks exactly right. Within 1fps of what I found in my testing at 1440p/Ultra.

These results do not surprise me given both sites' previous efforts.

And of course, the TechSpot numbers are not relevant for multiplayer. TS never benches in MP mode, and yet people often cite it for its results when referring to MP performance. BTW, 7870 faster than 670? Just wrong, sorry.

Looks like my new system already has a game that is unplayable on it. :/

no offense intended but if your system truly is new then you built it with a nearly 2 year old video card, Just saying. 7950's are great cards and all but they are getting long in the tooth

this might be off topic. but i'm playing this game on 3570k + 7870 oc on high setting with ultra textures at 65-80 fps on 1080P and it doesn't feel smooth most of the time. So my question is; would this be a server problem or is there something wrong with my setup( drivers/ bios ect)
So does anyone know the answer to this?

What is truly stand out to me in those graphs is the difference between the 7970 and the GTX 580. AMD has come a long way since the release of the 7970. early on people were screaming about how the 7970 was barely faster.... well now look at it.

I'm not exactly sure what artifacts mean nor am i completely sure how tell if i'm getting micro shuttering. my frames don't drop too much. I updated my drivers already also my tech level is low as you can tell.
In addition is there a way to test for lag? my ping is usually very low between 12- 50

I know, but all of the faster "new" cards are over $400. But yeah, I know, any "working adult" should have no problem buying graphics cards every few months.

Having to spend $400+ for 1080p is insane to people who don't take money for granted.

Looking at these reviews, it would need medium settings and some high with no MSAA for 60FPS multiplayer.
well i have 7870 oc and i was getting 70-90 fps on high setting according to fraps. i'm now running few things on ultra like textures, mesh, and textures quality and i'm getting 65-80 on 1080p.
Do own this game?
