I think that is it as well in some cases. The game is so intensive it is exposing unstable system overclocks.

That is really likely. Its not uncommon to see guys with crazy high overclocks with voltages that just look too low for what they have and more to the point insufficient cooling to sustain that on all the cores. Up to now that hasn't mattered much, the CPUs weren't going to crash or overheat because there just wasn't enough load on them from the average game that only used 2 cores. Now we have 6-8 cores being used heavily the CPUs are getting hotter and failing as a result.

Since my disc hasn't arrived yet I can't confirm or otherwise if the game is actually stable or not but most games show about 1% of their population has crashing directly related to their overclocks, there are a lot of unstable machines out there.

There are bugs in the game, make no mistake, this is a DICE game at launch. Since their first Battlefield these games have always been a disaster at launch. I have to assume it's an end-user issue though if I'm not getting these crashes.

I think there are a lot of gamers just overclocking their GPU or CPU without taking the time to actually verify their rig is stable under any load. So they are fine playing most games until something like Battlefield 4 comes along and puts a real strain on their system, suddenly their CPU and/or GPU is seeing 100% load - then bam crash city. A mildly unstable overclock often can just cause software to crash without a BSOD in my experience.

Anecdotal, but I've seen major issues on several machines with stock CPUs (including non K sandy bridges, pretty unlikely that's an unstable overclocking issue there).

Pretty much every GPU in the last few years has been factory overclocked though, so while it seems unlikely that they'd only break in BF4 it's possible that's an issue.

Kinda glad i don't bother with overclocking, sometimes i overclock a tad bit to where i know the system can easily be stable like the 31+offset on the core on my 770 which is tiny for a oc but will work period. The 7850 before it handled 1050 core cause virtually any 7850 with voltage control can do this but also this clock ended up being the most my card would handle.:|

I really hope that my system can handle the game on Ultra and Resolution Scale 200% @ 1080p with 60 FPS minimum.

Prob each site is doing custom timed benchmarks. I wish sites would share the same benchmark tests between them so you don't get people saying "see so and so site shows it faster". To many variables with peoples systems to know.
