Gaming Laptop under $1500

Holy smokes! I guess I've heard about them referred to as their model number (4820TG or whatever) but I didn't know people were talking about a Timeline-X with (presumably) great battery life.

Hmmm are these the ones not yet available in the USA? I've now seen instructions on how to buy them from an Asian site, and how to buy them from a German site.

The above is stock clocked. Most HD 5650's overclock great, and jump from a stock 3dm2k6 score of around 7400 to 9400 3dmarks, with some hitting over 10,000 in 3dm2k6. If that is not enough, than the next step up in gaming performance also loses a lot in laptop portability.

Thanks man. Usually I impulse shop like crazy, but I'm trying to be good (until I find work). That is, unless there's a totally smokin' deal. I'm not destitute or anything, I just shouldn't have quadruple digits worth of computer related purchases every month.

if I was looking for a 17" gaming laptop, the Asus G73 looks like it has it all for a great price. Only 2.5 hours on the 50w GPU, but with a laptop like this, moving it regularly and running on battery for very long probably won't happen much.

I got mine on sale for 999.99 + 100 rebate. It's still on newegg.ca for 1599.99 now. They do go on sale often.

It's only 768p, elwhich I actually like as can max out most games.

The i7's have turbo boost. Mine goes to 2.93ghz when boost is on.

How do you like that laptop? I'm looking at getting a gaming laptop myself, and came across this one:

HP gaming laptop.

Price would be about 986 for me after tax (I have the EPP), think it would fare well? I like that it's the new sandybridge, and the 2.0Ghz is a good freq @ that price
