Gaming Notebook Deals?

I've recently found out I'll be doing more traveling, and while I've got a desktop that will play most anything, my notebook uses the intel x1300 or whatever it is-- just won't cut it for anything recent gamewise. I don't really want to break the bank with a new purchase but something in the $1200 range would be great. I'd like to know if I can get a gaming notebook that will last a year or two gamewise as well as handle photoshop and other light editing work.

I've got a best buy up the way from where I am now but I'm not exactly spoiled by their customer service, so I wouldn't be against going with a reputable online retailer. Any suggestions? The game that is really spurring this is the new Batman that comes out on PC in a few weeks. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick feedback. How much of a price hike did they do?

It was $1150 a couple months back, then up to $1200. Now it's up at $1300.

Nuts. Well, I guess that's the cost of convenience. There aren't any scheduled deals on the higher end models anytime soon, are there? It seems that most of the promotions these days are on netbooks.

That's pretty good too, but the one I listed should be considerably more powerful, especially with the GPU.

The one I listed will play pretty much any game for $500 less.

Yeah, but some of the later games might have trouble playing on the highest settings. Plus the more expensive one should be considerably more "future proof", at least for a laptop. Definitely worth the extra money.

The deal INGLIX posted about is $700 cheaper. I'd play Crysis on medium instead of high for $700. anyway, the topic is about deals, not ultimate gaming laptops.

Uh, the topic is about something looking for a gaming notebook in the $1200 range. Did you miss that part? $700 off for something that's a good bit less powerful AND a refurb (less of a warranty)...well, you get what you pay for.
