I like to listen to WEB radio. I listen to a number of stations from a number of providers. After listening for a while, say a half hour to an hour, the sound becomes garbled. One of the providers, WINAMP, will show that it is repeatedly buffering the input. If I close the link to the station and re-open it the sound is clear again. I am not a PC expert but I would guess that either the main memory or the memory on the sound card gets filled over time and runs out of space for the buffer to fill properly.
I have an AMD 1800 with 512K of memory. The sound card is a Voyetra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. As above I usually use the program WINAMP to access the web and will frequently use the program Replay Radio to record the sound to mp3 files for later burning to a CD. When it works it is great. I can get 40 hours of jazz on a 1/2 of a CD.
Any clue on what the problem or how to troubleshoot and how to fix?
