i saw a commercial for that movie and i thought it was garbage and quite possibly dishonoring, certainly cheapening, the history of those servicemen in order to target the black demographic. now i find out it's from the same genius that gave birth to jar jar binks and howard the duck.
honestly, i think he could only go out on a low. his focus on the business of art has cost him any integrity as an artist decades ago. to illustrate this point, here's an interview from the rain delay of the 2011 canadian grand prix.
when asked about making a formula 1 movie, george says:
"generally speaking, films about sports don't work. people like to see the real thing."
by "work" he means "make more money for me than where i took it from."
meanwhile, senna was among the very highest-regarded movies last year. ron howard's rush is filming at germany's nurburgring this very week.
Ok, we're sorry, George, for bashing the prequels. We're sorry for ridiculing you over hacking the original flicks with added CGI, revised scenes and so on. Honestly, we didn't mean to hurt your feelings and push you into retirement. Did you ever stop think that maybe we were just trying to send you a message to leave it all alone? It was great. It was perfect. We consumed it like kids at an all-you-can-eat chocolate buffet. Revisions and additions just weren't necessary.... and neither is 3D.
"On the internet, all those same guys that are complaining I made a change are completely changing the movie," 67-year-old Lucas said during an interview about his latest film Red Tails, a biopic about the Tuskegee Airmen. "Im saying: 'Fine. But my movie, with my name on it, that says I did it, needs to be the way I want it.'"
