Getting spam text messages! :(

I am getting spam text messages on my phone for the last month or so. Earlier it was about once a week but I got one last night and one this morning. It sucks cause I only have 250 msgs per month. What can I do? The verizon guy said I can call them and they'll give me back those messages but I can't call them every few days just to get a message back.

I use GoogleVoice as a number, and preview the messages there when possible. My pay as you go phone doesn't bill for texts if I don't read them. Does your plan work like that?

They really should only bill the sender for the outbound texts. I received 2 last week but no others. I don't have any texting on my phone so I have to pay for the spam. I may just have them disable texting altogether.

I call tmobile cus.sup. whenever I get spam texts because i don't have a text msg plan. They credit me 10 so that I don't have to call them very often. I get up to 5 spam text per month.

some providers used to do this...then they relized they can double bill and make more money.

its akin to the usps charging you to check your mail after someone paid to send it...thing is now, most people get the unlimited text packages so its usually not an issue
