I have my windows 2k3 server running with iis6. i have a linksys wireless broadband router hooked up to my modem, my server is hooked to the linksys.
A little history, I had a domain name through deerfield, but that expired. I am trying dynu, because it is free. My old domain through deerfield was run on a linux box that had dns, dhcp, apache, mail. I could access this server on port 6330, and the webmail through ssh, port 443. I could not get to it through port 80, I believe my internet provider blocks this.
Back to the problem. I have the default IIS 6 install with remote web desktop. I have added port 80 and 3389 to my router and have it forwared to the ip of my w2k3 server. If my internet provider is blocking port 80, when someone from outside tries to go to my domain and access tsweb for Remote Desktop, will this prevent RD from coming up even though it is on port 3389?
One thing I thought I could try was change the port of my web serve to something like 6000, those I know I can access because on my previous linux server it was running on port 6330.
Any suggestions are welcom, I want to get my server online again. Thanks for any help.
