Getting weird clicking noise...

This started today. I get a weird clicking noise when playing mp3s. I have nothing new and have had this setup for a while and never had this problem. Its a santa cruz sound card and jbl sonnet speakers. I'm playing the mp3s with the latest version of QCD player. The mp3 rip quality is good and these never had any probs before. To stop the clicking I have to stop the song and then it stops for a while. Any ideas?

I had a problem kind of like that before and I did a bit of looking around. Somewhere, it was suggested that my IDE controllers had become corrupted. It sounded shady to me, but I tried removing and re-installing them and the problem went away.

You just need to go into Device Manager and look for IDE controllers. Remove them and when you reboot, they should be re-installed automatically. I had the problem on my OptiPlex GX110, so your's could be completely different. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, then don't. I don't want you to mess up your computer and hate me forever. I don't know whether you tried restarting or not. Your post didn't mention it, but that's definitely always the first thing to try for any problem. I don't specifically know anything about the A7V600.

i had something of a similar problem with my santa cruz...i'd get some popping and hissing when playing mp3s through any player....it turned out to be the temp monitoring utility...if you have one, try disabling it.
