Does anyone know if it's possible to dump a Ghost image to a machine with a USB NIC? I hate having to install a common NIC into new PCs just to image them.
Why not make a ghost boot disk that supports multiple nics? I made a ghetto one with about 6-7 common NICs on it which you choose via a simple DOS menu on bootup.
The simpler but slower alternative is to use Bart's bootdisk/pebuilder which has every nic driver that XP SP2 supports built in and an easy method to add your own as long as the nics have XP drivers. You then need to run Ghost32 rather than the DOS ghost of course so this will only work if you have the corporate version I think. Not sure if ghost32 comes with the standard home user versions...
USB NICs in DOS Ghost will be pretty dicey, if possible at all. Horribly enough, DOS USB support exists(kinda) with enough third party drivers; but I don't know if USB NICs are supported. BartPE sounds like your friend, in this case.
